Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked a private event for 20 adults. The team are very accomodating, and we were able to take snacks/ drinks with us (they had set out a table for that too). After a detailed briefing we set to with our various designs - despite may of us believing we weren't creative! The owners are really helpful at suggesting solutions to any problems we may have in creating a particular effect. We can't wait to see all our finished pieces in a couple of weeks! Thank you so much for everything!

Had a great time at The Glass Palette. While celebrating a milestone Birthday my friend and I spent a couple hours completing a weekend walk-in project. We didn't know what to expect but had a ton of fun using different glass pieces to create a one of a kind item. The fact that they ship you the finished piece a couple weeks following the 'class' just adds to the excitement of remembering the fun we had creating the art. I would definitely recommend The Glass Palette for a fun time in Charlottesville.

This was such a wonderful adventure. It was a spontaneous trip and luckily, they had a spot for us. Highly suggest making an appointment as they had several bookings and a steady flow while we were there.
I am not creative but I left feeling as though I created something beautiful. The instructions were clear and they came by to check on us frequently. The owners were both there and were super friendly. They didn’t mind answering any question that we had.
I cant recommend this adventure enough. Cutting glass and using pieces to make something unique and beautiful was thrilling. Although they are able to ship your piece after it’s fired in the kiln, we will make another trip to pick it up. Will likely bring friends or our daughters back as this is definitely older kid friendly. Ours is 8 and will have no problem!

My two daughters (11 and 13) and I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours here! We had never done anything like this before, but are awaiting our finished pieces with anticipation! Everything was well organised, explained clearly and the team were very helpful (for example, finding specific colours that we needed for our designs). There is a huge range of items that you can make, ranging in price from $22 for a coaster to $75+ for larger bowls - and that is all you pay (no studio charge). Al pieces are designed/ made flat by you, and then take your chosen shape during firing. It takes a couple of weeks for your pieces to be finished, but they can be posted if you live away. All in all, an enjoyable couple of hours and I would fully recommend it!

This place was awesome! Definitely a must see if you’re in the area. Please don’t mistake this location for the other glass place in Charlottesville!! The owner and sales staff were very helpful and friendly. It was the highlight of our trip and we will have some beautiful art pieces to show for it.

This was our second experience here. Just as enjoyable as the first time. We are still awaiting our finished plates as they need to be fired in a kiln. You can have the finished pieces shipped to you if you live out of town. The two ladies who run this studio are super nice and helpful. Wish we lived closer so we could take some of the workshop classes they sometimes offer.

The Glass Palette is a great experience, particularly if you want to try something different. Making your own glass piece(s) is extremely rewarding. You don't need any experience to make a beautiful art. The owners are a mother/daughter pair that are happy to walk you through every single step. Perfect for families, first dates, hanging with friends or even just coming alone. You won't be able to take anything home the day you create your project, it takes up to 2-3 weeks to get through the firing process but the owners are expert shippers for out of towners. Finally, Covid protocols are followed, and being high risk I especially appreciate this. Only the people in your party will sit at your table. Everyone is expected to wear masks and there are people to bring supplies to you as you need them. Reservations are required.

Even though their website states: "Vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks in the studio.", the women stated that we had to wear masks while in there. We had travelled 1 1/2 hours to get there. To make matters worse, when we walked in, one of the women who worked there had no mask on; she put one on when customers came into the studio. This clearly indicates to me that it is O.K. for them to not wear masks when nobody was around to see them, but we are unclean and must wear masks despite the fact that at least one of them was walking around in the shop maskless, breathing into the air that we would breathe.

I’m sorry that you weren’t aware of the updated information on our COVID policies. As our website and social media pages explain, “With safety as our top priority, we will be functioning on a reservation system only. One family/group per table, and all materials will be supplied by our assistants. Due to elevated COVID case numbers in our area, in order to protect our most vulnerable visitors we are once again requiring all individuals to wear masks while in the studio, regardless of vaccination status. We thank you for your understanding.”
Our studio is owned and run by two people who are fully vaccinated and boostered, but who each have more vulnerable family members at home. We wear our masks all day, aside from eating/drinking, in order to keep our wide variety of customers safe and comfortable in our studio. We ask that our customers wear theirs for the 1-2 hours of their visit to keep us, our families, and other customers safe.
It is my suggestion to you that before traveling long distances to indoor locations during a pandemic, you may wish to call ahead to ensure that no policies exist that will be a deal breaker for you if you are not willing to take basic steps to make those around you feel safer and more comfortable. We provide masks for anyone who arrives without one of their own, and we also offer take-home kits for those who prefer not to work in the studio for any reason.
Thanks for your review and your understanding of the steps we are taking to keep our customers and community safe. Wishing you and your family continued health and happiness!

This was such a cute place to do something different in wine country. I highly recommend this 2 hour craft to implement into your wine tasting vacation. You pick the size of your piece and decorate it with glass pieces and then they fire it in the kiln and ship it to you. Price varies depending on the size of your piece. Affordable for sure.

If I could give this experience more stars I would. What a fun thing to do. I took my wife who wanted to do this. I have no artistic ability but they make you feel at home. It was fun and a great “date” experience or family fun. The ladies who run it are enjoyable, knowledgeable and give you enough guidance to create your own masterpiece. I would highly recommend giving this a try - and they will ship your final glass work to you if you are from out of state. The whole 2-hour experience for my wife and I, 2 items and shipping out of state was only $80.

I think the small pieces start at about $35. There were four in our group 2 of us worked on one piece and two others did separate ones. We were very pleased with our end results .
