I had a GREAT experience apple picking at Carter Mountain Orchard! We visited on a Tuesday after a busy October weekend, so we had to venture deep into the orchards for our apples but it was definitely worth it and a great experience. My husband...More

I love going to Carter Mountain for apple picking and apple cider donuts! It has gotten a lot more crowded since I first started going there about 10 years ago. Despite the crowd, everything is very well run and organized. I look forward to going...More

This orchard is on the top of a hill so it can get very breezy and is super chilly. I wasn’t there to pick apples but others were doing this (though not properly dressed). I perused the country store and found that the prices were...More

We stopped by after Thanksgiving, and there were still apples to be picked! We rode the hay ride, which was about 10 minutes, through the orchard, and saw the men working to prune the trees. The road to the orchard was very muddy and slippery...More

It depends on the type of apple, but most are around $1.79 per pound. Some of the later varieties have been more in the past. The price is about the same as the grocery store, but the apples taste much better.

No animals. You might see deer, wild turkey, raccoons, possum or other animals native to the area, but unless they have a petting zoo event etc. there are no animals there as part of the attraction.
