The golf course features several strategically placed water hazards and unique doglegs that present a wonderful challenge. Two clubhouses support the activities on the course, around the pool, and during the many banquets, brunches, and special events the club hosts. Just fifteen minutes from downtown Norfolk, Chesapeake Golf Club is conveniently located to most of the residents of South Hampton Roads.Course Info.• Type: Public• No. of Holes: 18• Par: 71• Fairways: Bermuda• Greens: Bent• Architect: Ellis Maples• Year Opened: 1986• Par 71• Part of: Hampton Roads GolfCourse RatingMen’s Blue Tee: 6,159 yards Rating: 69.5 Slope: 122Men’s White Tee: 5,763 yards Rating: 67.4 Slope: 120Men’s Senior Tee: 5,055 yards Rating: 64.4 Slope: 106Ladies Tee: 4,870 yards Rating: 68.1 Slope: 116DirectionsFrom I-64, take exit 291B (Dominion Blvd/Elizabeth City exit). Great local course, a little slow on the weekend, but expected. Good layout, even if I did lose a couple balls!

Granted it was after rain, but it was one of the worst courses we have played on. Unkept fairways, huge puddles and goose poop covering course. Most unpleasant and will not return.

I regularly visit the Chesapeake Golf Club as one local course I play. It's not the longest or in the best shape, except for the greens that play well, but offer golfers at least 9-11 potential challenging holes with water hazards or tight boundaries to...More

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here, with great service. It is hard to feed 55 people and keep food hot and moving. Loved the 4 courses, cordon bleu fab, soup darn good.

This could be a really nice course with a little bit more effort (money) thrown at it. Strange layout of holes and some fairways are tight. The traps need new fresh sand. The greens are the best part of the course. Most, if not all...More
