Had a wonderful conversation with Nancy, she is very knowledgeable and friendly. Great gift shop. Out front is Chinco and Bailey, Chinco is a Chincoteague pony and you can pet him! Wonderful up close experience with a tamed pony. Recommend chatting with Nancy, she's wonderful.

The ponies are a great attraction for Chincoteague. the history of the ponies on the island are a great story. My kids loved the exhibits and seeing the ponies out on the island. We even witnessed the round up.

The museum is not publicized; I knew about it from reading about it on Tripadvisor. Although the artifacts don't look too new, there's a lot on the real Misty of Chincoteague. I particularly enjoyed reading the family tree! My kids and I got a kick...More

As opposed to many horse places that do not allow you to touch the horses, this one encourages it. They had two foals and they were adorable and so soft! My girls were thrilled and could've stayed all day. The offered pony rides (under 100lbs)...More
