Overview
More
The Chincoteague Cultural Alliance is a non-profit arts organization that was established in 2005. We went from having a handful of free events (like the Second Saturday Art Stroll and Plein Art Show and Sale), to now producing over 100 events a year. In December 2015, we finally purchased our home at 6309 Church Street that we had been renting since 2011. CCA is a very busy organization and is 100% volunteer. Some of our programs include: -Annual Plein Art Show and Sale -Chincoteague Island Theatre Company performances, dinner theatre, play readings, and more -Annual Photo Contest -Farmers Market Weekly from April-October -Second Saturday Artful Flea from April-October -Holly Day Market -Monthly Island Coffeehouse -Classes in everything from theatre to ballet to watercolor painting and much more -Saturday Morning Kid Art Class -Mother Earth Day Festival -Music at the Dock concerts in Robert Reed Park -Movies in the Park at Robert Reed Park -"Hear a Story, Share a Story" Storytelling nights. Since 2014, CCA has sponsored the Chincoteague Island Farmers and Artisans Market on our property. If you would like to learn more about the CCA, please visit our website.

Our group of 22 had a wonderful seafood dinner with a crab picken, when we gathered at this building. The music as provided by a local person who played delightful sea shanties. The art work of the seascapes and oyster-men was beautiful, too.

The Chincoteague Cultural Alliance does a monthly farmers' market/flea market/craft market. We were lucky to be in town during the July event. Very nice crafts, so low in price! Fresh farm veggies, food truck, live music. What's not to love? Oh, yeah, the heat. Well,...More

It's hard to capture all they do in a single review (Farmer's Market, live music, art, theater, etc). This group is clearly important to the local area, and while small in a sense, they clearly make an effort to be inclusive to a variety of...More

Attended the farmers market on Saturday of our trip. Not much produce but arts were great. Had wonderful conversation with photographer. Gave info on the island and the wild ponies of Chincoteague.

Thank you for your positive review! This time of year is difficult for produce vendors to bring their goods, but I'm glad you enjoyed the market and spoke with one of our very talented artisans.

The CCA puts on many wonderful cultural events each summer. This summer we got to watch "A Face in the Crowd" on movie night, and danced to CAISO Steel Drum Band on the village green.

We attended the farmer's market and were disappointed that there were only three actual farm produce booths. The rest were artisans. The products displayed were a good quality. I just didn't consider it to be a farmers market.More

Thank you for stopping by and patronizing Chincoteague Island Farmers Market! The manager consistently attempts to register a higher percentage of the farmer group (producers of agriculture/aquaculture sourced items) all in keeping with the name.
