Very easy to rent beach cruiser and ride over the bridge and around the island. Bring a lock so it’s easy to tour the lighthouse and walk on the beach.

The trees were turning color, the water foul were active and the wild horses were near the road for some great photo opportunities. Also tool a stroll on the beach and watched the fiddler crabs making home improvements to their burrows!

We like driving through Assateague when we visit Ocean City, MD because it is such a unique habitat. There are two parts of the park, a free section and one that you have to pay $20 to enter. This year we saw deer, herons, and...More

If you visit this part of the country then a visit to Assateague is a must. The visitor center is small, but well done. Once you cross the bridge you can either go to the state park or national park. I visited the national park...More

It’s close to Berlin, MD. Your best approach would be to head to Virginia Beach and take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to the Eastern Shore and continue North on HWY 13.
