Beautiful and Unique Vacation Experience

We love visiting Assateague each year while staying in Ocean City. Not only is seeing the wild ponies a unique experience, the view from the beach is beautiful.

This place is perfect if you love nature. Have been camping there for years. There are no hookups. Most parts of the park permit quiet generators until 10pm. You are right at the beach. Ponies roam all over the park. Bring your camera. Please keep your food locked in your car or in your hard side camper. Do not touch,... More

We went to the National seashore, not the state park right in front. State park was closed anyway. We were camping for 1 night, Bayside quiet zone with a tent. Was like 30 bucks, You can hear the generators from the non quiet zone. Before you rent a spot, drive through ans see what is available, some sites have good... More

This is a wonderful national seashore. There is not a lot of easy access, though there are a few very nice driving tours and great walking tours at the south end. The light house is not accessible and work on the road has closed the paths to and from the parking lot. Take the handicapped access road. There are no... More

I enjoy coming back here. I like seeing wildlife when I visit and enjoy the beach. This is perfect for families with children or a solo visit. The beach is very clean and less crowded than the Ocean City Beach.

It was $20 to enter the park but was valid for a week. The first day we spent in OC was rainy so we drove around the park and saw a few horses. We came back on a nicer day to enjoy the beach. There is also a few hiking trails through the park.

This is hands down one of the favorite spots I've ever visited! Not only is the nature wonderful but what really makes it unique is of course all the wild horses walking around and moving freely on this seashore. Such a unique experience to watch them walk on the beach and stroll amongst the trees. If we go back we'll... More

Assateague was a wonderful place to visit! My husband and I wanted to do something active and outdoors for spring break, didn't want to spend much, and wanted a new experience. We chose assateague based on recommendations from friends and coworkers. Loved it! Was easy to get around on bike, still a little chilly in April but nice for biking.... More

It's impossible to visit this area without visiting Assateague. An avid photographer, I wasn't disappointed with the numerous wild pony sightings & the deer. The beach offered tranquil sea views with numerous visitors enjoying the opportunity to bring their dogs along for the fun.

It was a perfect November day for hiking trails and a walk on the beach-sunny and upper 50's. I found some nice sea shells and saw a few wild horses. The port-a-potty is not the typical small square. These are made from heavy duty plastic (trex?), it's spacious and has a hand sanitizer inside.
