Lake Moomaw is in a remote location in the mountains of western Virginia. This feature makes it good and bad. The good part is that it is relatively quiet and not jammed full of people (at least mid week in July). The bad part is...More

Lake Moomwaw has a variety of picnic areas for small and large family gatherings. Sheltered picnic areas are also available. Family can take a scenic walk, spend time fishing, swimming or just sitting around relaxing before and after the picnic.

Lots of great sites for camping. Would be better if the local towns were a bit closer. Very secluded. There is a beach and several boat ramps.
