RdV Vineyards is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the historic town of Delaplane. Thomas Jefferson, a native of Virginia and founding father of our nation, was also a "man of the soil," an avid viticulturist who dreamed of creating a "great American wine based on a French model." Today, Jefferson's vision is a reality at RdV. Bordeaux grapes, planted on a granite hillside, producing wines that marry the elegance of Bordeaux with the bold spirit of California.

RdV Vineyards is open to the public for Tours & Tastings at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, Thursday through Sunday. To reserve a Tour & Tasting with us, you may do so through our website or by contacting us at the winery.

RdV wines are available for purchase at the winery, and through our online store with the option to pick up or ship. If you have any further questions about visiting us or our Ambassador Membership Program, please feel free to contact us. We hope that you enjoy our wines!

This winery is by appointment only and only makes red wines. It is $50 to do a tour and a tasting, but it seems that they think they are all that. They informed me to get there early as they started promptly at 11 with the tour but as friends of one of the employees were late getting there we... More

We visited with another couple. We loved it. Great wine, great tour, beautiful place and Abbey, our guide was so informative. At $50 per person, it seems pricey but the wines are very good, they greet you with a glass of champagne, you get a cheese a charcuterie board with your tastings, and she even offered tastings of another year.... Our first visit to RDV was in October 2015 for a tour and after several other visits, we returned in September 2016 with a friend before a wedding. If you have a serious appreciation for red wine and want to try the best Virginia has to offer, you must visit. RDV is a gem in a region where not all... More

My wife and I scheduled a tour for 1pm. After reading the reviews here I was convinced to go, and I am so glad we did. This is now our favorite vineyard in Virginia. We appreciated their winemaking attention to detail and the thorough tour. We even bought a bottle to open in a couple years. Look forward to going... More

A small but modern winery and a very nice and informative tour. Our guide was the mother-in-law of the winery owner and she was passionate about the wine and funny which kept us interested. Our tour ended with our group being seated and served a charcuterie with the wine tasting. Although the wine was good and the best we have... More

Best Virginia wine. Warm hospitality and elegant winery. The winery surprised me because I expected an old farmhouse but instead entered into a very elegant state of the art facility! Having a wonderful time. Great for romantic couple trip or enjoying with friends.

This is top of the line as wineries go. We had a very well done tour with Connie, who is knowledgeable and very passionate about the winery, followed by an outstanding seated tasting of superb wines and excellent local food. For those who wanted, a walk among the vines topped the day. Well worth the price and the drive.

We went to RDV based on the reviews we read online and an article that we read in Food and Wine and in general were impressed with the facility and the wines themselves. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and winery itself is immaculate. I understand that some people are put off by the tour/tasting fee, and I think... More

Tastings consists of two, one ounce pours of their two red blends at the cost of $50 per person. You also get a small plate of fine meat, cheese, and pate. The wines are first rate but certainly overpriced at $75 and $95 per bottle. A very unique building with a lot of thought going into the design. The vines are... More

Close your eyes and think of a really cool winery built in the rolling hills, surrounded by farm land and stone walls, a cave underground with a brook that seeps into a wall. Where would you be? Napa? Sonoma? Oregon? No you would be in the heart of steeplechase Country in Virginia. This is an amazing first class winery built... More
