Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I have been going to this theatre for many years, so we were shocked to find that our experience this time was almost terrible. They have cut staff so low that there was no one to sell us tickets. They eliminated all the ticket sales kiosks except for one. (There used to be four) The only way you could buy a ticket was to stand in line at the concession stand. One half hour later we bought our tickets for $16.30 for two seniors. Then we just waked into the cinema with no one watching us. We saw that you could just walk in the front door and go right in since there was no one taking tickets or even cared that some one could do just that. Amazing Attitude.

Oh yes, the Virginia Center Commons Shopping Mall is closing for good in January 2020. A group of investors is going to try to build a sports stadium. I do not know if it will be in door or out door. Society has really changed over the last several years. The whole concept of an indoor mall is out dated.

This mall was a booming mall at one time. It is so disappointing now to go there now. All he major stores are gone. It looks like a ghost town now.i still go to Burlington sometimes but they have even made that store smaller.

I was working at this mall at the time of my stay at the Best Western hotel. This place is slowly dying. They have lost a major anchor store, Macy's, and a few minor stores as well. Once the new outlet mall comes in Ashland, this place will be a dinosaur.

Mall is fairly abandoned. A few cars in the parking lot. Most stores are empty and there was not more than 20 people in the mall. We went to a few stores but probably would not go back. Eatery has a few places and maybe 20 stores left in the whole mall.

This used to be a terrific mall. Unfortunately, the mall is now dying. 90% of the stores have all closed up here. There are two original anchor stores left.
Stay away from the food court. The only restaurants left are super gross and not food safe at all.
Big shame cause this used to be the premier mall to goto.

My son is infatuated with the store American Eagle. I find the store full of pretentious "want to be" young adult sales reps who barely could be bothered to wait on you.
Overall, this mall is on the declining end of its former retail glory days. It's anchor stores are Macy's, Burlington Coat Factory, JC Penney, & Sears. There's a decent sports themed store there that carries NFL, NHL, NBA gear. There is also an American Family Fitness that is new as of 2014 which is nice. There are many kiosks with cheaper trinkets - nothing too serious. The only sit down restaurant is scary (read the reviews!)-stay @ the food court!!!
Short pump is the easy obvious choice for a higher quality of selections.
Likes: Anchor Stores
Dislikes: stores & kiosks with a flavor of Spencer gifts (which also is there!)
