Parking very close. Easy swimming with lifeguards. Feels safe volleyball net and ice cream truck comes by frequently. Met wide variety of peeps all very fun. Plenty of room to set up umbrella and chairs. Avoid the traffic. Love this spot

Beach has police patrolling and lifeguards constantly. Located by a public park. Free parking. Can walk past private homes and the beach is no where near as crowded at Virginia beach.

I like that this park has cleaned up so well and is family friendly. Helpful lifeguard staff. Warm and calmer waters, but still able to watch the different kinds of boats go by. Good pier on which to go fishing. This place makes taking the drive across the HRBT to Virginia Beach totally unnecessary!

This is a quiet serene beach on the bay. Beautiful sunrise, nice grass park nearby for smaller children, picnic table and a restroom and washing off area. Nice change to the noisy beaches.

We came on a small family trip to this quiet local beach. It was a very very hot July day! But we found easy parking 4 minutes walk from the beach. There were several life guards on duty. The sand was soft and white, and pretty clean for the most part. My one and only complaint is the JELLYFISH! When... More

We visited Buckroe to Fish from the pier. Always a blast! Nice quiet beach, a low key alternative to Va.Beach. If you're looking for a 'Beach' and not all the extras and tourist attractions this is the spot.

Our in laws live across the street on BuckRoe Beach so we come here quite often, this is our first time during game summer. If you have a dog, beware they are not allowed on the beach/board walk during sum.er, otherwise they are good to enjoy the beach as well. Out of all the locations we will normally park by... More

Buckroe Beach is in a pleasant location on the Chesapeake Bay just north of Fort Monroe. It employs city lifeguards the length of the beach. The park backing the beach area is available for pick nicks and contains plenty of free parking. The only fly in the ointment is the Hampton location. Several fights have occurred in the park, some... More

This beach and park are quite lovely. We went twice. The beach is not as wide as VA beach, but it is pretty wide. The water was nice and warm and you could see clearly through it. The sand is alot softer than VA beach, anx.not as heavy. It makes it alot easier to carry all your beachgear through. The... More
