The ferry is a great way to get between Maryland and Virginia. During rush hour the peaceful cruise across the Potomac is great to reduce blood pressure.

It's a throw back to cross on the ferry. Very quick and smooth Check to make sure it is running after heavy rains and or snow. My kids loved it

Good, honest food hot off the grill. If you're not in a hurry, take a few minutes to talk to the store owners/staff, appreciate the lines above your head that mark various floods, and share a laugh.

So relaxing and fun to do. Ride in style across the river as in olden days. The owners are nice. Make sure you have cash. No credit cards.

Always a fun way to cross the Potomac. Check to see if its running in bad weather or high water. Watch the speed cameras in Md.

Historic, old ferry takes cars from the Maryland side to the Virginia side (nearest towns are Poolesville MD and Leesburg VA. Inexpensive and a beautiful ride in fine weather.

This quick trip shire to shore is a nod to the days of old. The actual site is just upstream from where the Battle of Balls Bluff occurred. There are no amenities to be found on this "no frills cruise" nor would you want them....More
