This is a great Civil War battlefield to visit - and a chance to stand on hallowed ground. Go during the "warm months" and you'll get a great guided tour. The trails are awesome and the interpretive signs are top notch. There is a great scenic overlook of the Potomac River from VA into MD. Well worth the visit!

We walk along this trail to the Potomac every Thankgiving morning. It's beautiful at this time of year. We don't spend any time at the cemetery, but it is unusual because it is so small. We usually spend about an hour because we like to spend a little time down by the water.

Perfect for runners, hikers, dog walkers, and history buffs. Learn about the civil war battle and take in the beautiful scenery of the park and the Potomac River. I have been coming here for years and never get tired of it.

We decided to check this place out based on a great recommendation from a friend. He was right! Great hike with amazing views and so nice to combine with learning a bit of history as well. Definitely recommend!

This is a cool place if you enjoy history. You must walk from the parking lot, but there are good historical markers to read and trails to take you out to look at the river. It's quiet, not heavily traveled, but a good piece of our country's history - local style.

This regional park was great and I am already planning on taking my parents when they visit next. There are signs all over about the historic Civil War battle as well as several trails available for hiking. The Park is right on the Potomac River, with well marked paths that are spread with mulch to help with erosion and mud.... More

This is a lovely park that was once a battlefield. It's located inside an inconspicuous subdivision, and it's easy to find, thanks to signage. I recommend stopping in for a walk through some nice scenery.

This is a great place to escape the city, and take a very relaxing walk in the woods. It is safe foe small kids, enjoyable, well-maintained and..... educational to boot! It is one of our "go to" places in Leesburg to just get out in nature. This and Rust sanctuary are both gems!
