We drove by the campus after dinner and decide to stop and walk around. We were impressed by the historic campus and enjoyed watching the cadets drilling and marching. It was a culture different than we are familiar with. Informational signs and monuments make for an interesting visit.

Being the holiday break when we visited we could only drive around the campus..OMG is it huge and so well designed. Fits perfectly with the mood of Lexington. I would love to see a few activities. Maybe next time. We live jusdt around the corner from West Point in NY...and VMI was equally impressive

The school itself is a site to see. Incredible architecture and history in all of the buildings. There are multiple museums to visit and really good places to eat close by.

The history of VMI is apparent by just driving onto campus. The cadets walking the grounds and the buildings with the majestic mountains in the background made you feel the honor and pride all around. The VMI museum in the basement of the chapel is worth the visit. I'm only sorry there were no parades to see.

My wife and I went to attend the citadel VMI game and spent the entire weekend on campus. Enjoyed the parade and tour of the campus before the game. Recommend the museum and visit to the chapel. Wish we had time to visit the marshal library but will save that for the next visit.

VMI has a motto of sorts...."we don't do ordinary"! And they mean it! This is not your average college or military institute. If you are an American and the least bit patriotic you will feel a sense of pride when you visit this campus. Try to visit on a weekend when there is a parade. The cadets are amazing and... More

The design and size of buildings and grounds will blow you away. Must See museum for "Stonewall" Jackson fanatics (like my self). They have the best Jackson collection that I saw anywhere. Make sure you walk around campus. Awesome Jackson statue in front of building. Nice Chapel as well.

Grounds are impressive and there are two gear museums on site. Either one would be worth the trip, as well as the beautiful setting.

What a special place! Our future leaders, no doubt. The campus is beautiful and easy to walk around. Enjoyed the museums and athletics.
