I really enjoyed touring this property. The guide was well prepared and informative. The house was clean well lighted and period correct. I learned much more about the man than I knew before.

Take the tour. Plan to spend an hour. The collection within the house is primarily of actual items owned by the Jacksons which adds to the education provided by our docent. Go somewhere else to learn about Jackson's many military exploits. $8.00 very well spent.

You really get a sense of what Jackson's private life was like by visiting the house. The garden he tended to the attention to detail with the restoration of the house really brought you into the life of the man and his family. Our guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. He was easy going and encouraged questions about the house... More

You must go see the only house Stonewall ever owned. You will learn interesting facts about this wonderful man and expierence part of his life. You will leave with great respect for one of our greatest heroes. Once you leave his house...You can almost go back in time and expirence the same walk he took from his home, through Washington... This was a quaint little home in the heart of Lexington talking about Stonewall Jackson's history. I learned about his background including his rapid accession in the Army, his exploits in Mexico, his education of slaves via the church before the Civil War, and his life in Lexington. The tour will give you a better appreciation of Stonewall Jackson's life.

I would say my favorite tour in Lexington was Jackson's home. Of course, this is 100% due to the enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide, Chuck. He was great at creating a visual of Thomas Jackson and the world he lived in. The house itself is beautiful, decorated with antiques, some donations from the time period, some actual pieces the... Interesting history of both the area and the house as explained by the tour guide. Pointed out many items that were own by Jackson or were a period piece. If in the Lexington area, visit this house along with the town. It is a neat little plac!e

We really enjoy touring historic homes, mostly for the home itself. But what makes this tour so good is the information about Stonewall Jackson's life. He was very interesting and I wish the tour could have been longer so we could have learned more about him. You will enjoy it, just go. Also, our guide Serena was great!
