We parked at the Visitor Center (which had not yet opened for the season - early April) not knowing there's a dedicated parking lot at Mile 6 for the hike to Humpback Rock. The bonus - we were able to see the historic farm and older buildings as we headed over to the trailhead. Taking our time and advantage of... More

This hike is an uphill battle to the top but it wasn't as strenuous as the signs make it seem. We did the hike early morning and ran into ice so beware of that if it is the winter time. When we got to the top we expected some amazing views but we were quite disappointed with them. The views... More

The visitor center itself is ok, but go for the hike. They have a little trail that takes you back in time with an old farmhouse and equipment. Cross the road and head up the trail. it's steep but doesn't take long to reach the top. It's a great workout and we enjoyed it immensely on a perfect New Years... More

We went over the Thanksgiving weekend and it was pretty nippy especially with the wind so definitely layer up and have a hat and gloves at the ready if you are going when it is cold. The visitor's center was already closed for the season and that meant no bathrooms(wonder what people do in the off season...). We checked out... More

Hiked this trail with our dog. It's very, very steep in places and rocky. Wear appropriate shoes or don't go. View from the top is breathtaking or heart-stopping, depending on whether you suffer from vertigo. Be careful to stay on the main trail; theirs a shortcut trail that's less well maintained and even more steep.

My husband and I hiked the "long way" up to Humpback Rocks. This is the trail from the picnic area. It is roughly 3.4 mi of hiking with many switchbacks. We arrived at Humpback Rocks after about 1.5-2 hours. The Rocks were being enjoyed by lots of people and we hung out for awhile taking photos. There were some gorgeous... More

The Visitor Center is informational, educational and has a small shop and restrooms. You can start your hike up to the rocks from here or drive about 1/4 further and start at the Humpback Rocks parking area. The hike is pretty vertical and the second half is pretty rocky. This hike is NOT for those with a heart condition or... More

We did this hike with children 4-10 years old. We were a little concerned about how challenging it would be so we stopped at the visitor's center and were reassured that while strenuous it was perfectly safe for children. From the visitor's center we drove to the trail parking lot about 1/2 mile up on the left. It was really... More

We only tried the small walk to the old farm. Just 1/4 mile trek... with some old buildings and some small descriptive signs. You can trek past the last house and be picked up further down the road. Not in the shape to do the big hike, nor the time. Tiny visitor's center with a few gifts. Bathrooms, place to... More
