We visited on a beautiful cool day. Which was really fortunate as there is a lot to see involving a lot of walking. Worth every step. The tour of the home is a bit quick but necessary to get everyone through. Lots to see outside...More

I’ve always been a fan of George Washington but I learned more about him in 4 hours here than all the years of history lessons. This is a great depiction of live during colonial time and the exhibits are eye opening. Just for fun took...More

Such a beautiful place overlooking the Potomac. Hard to imagine that place is over 200 years old and the history and lives that occurred there. The animals (steer, goats) on the grounds were a nice surpise. So glad it's preserved for all to admire and...More

I totally enjoyed every aspect of our day at the Washingtons' plantation. So glad to have researched and purchased the premier mansion tour ahead of time, it's well worth the extra money but to wait in line and to have a private guide. Our highlight...More

We spent 4 hours here enjoying the museum's, the house and tour, the movie, the gift shop, the restaurant, and the views. Beautiful grounds and home with so much history. We paid out respects at the time of George and Martha Washington. A wonderful day.

After coming back to the DC area, this is the best way to spend a day. It was relatively crowded because we went on a Saturday afternoon, but it was still enjoyable and beautiful. To begin, there are a couple of parking lots, which were...More

Definitely a must if you are able to. Tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.. took the National Treasure tour. Good story telling and always fun to walk where actors/actresses have. Just an impressive place to visit! Thumbs up!

The gardens and grounds of this historical home was just lovely. We walked through the grounds and different barns, slaves quarters and the mansion with the view of the Potomac and with the nice weather, it was perfect.

The tours are relatively short and to the point. The house tour is 30 mins max and can be done in time for you 2pm. Just make sure to have the house tour time reserved if possible. Otherwise you get a time when you pay the... More
