Although the exterior of the church is rough and in need of preservation, the inside is absolutely beautiful. The stain glass windows alone are worth the visit, ceiling murals are being restored and refreshed. Town view from the tower is worth the climb.

I associate this building with a palace or indeed a church in a fairytale. It is probably caused by the shape of the roofs on the towers and the dome. During my visit to Granada most of the time this church was closed, but I understand there still is an active parish using it. I found La Merced and the... More

This church stands erect at the Calzada Street or Calle de Calzada. It is situated at the entrance of the town from the lake. When I travel to the Americas, there are plenty of churches to see and I try to pass them all. I like the different architecture and the history that goes with it. This colonial style church... Walk down Calle de Calzada en route to the Malecon. The facade is beautiful, has very old world quality to it. The church interior is pretty plain

Although it might not be the fanciest or nicest church, it offers a lot of character and can be visited on your way to dock of lake Nicaragua

Very interesting visit to this church. You pay to go up the tower which gives you a part birds eye view of the surrounding area. You have to also pay to go into the main part of the church. Would I recommend a visit. Yes, but it's not anything special.

One of the most beautiful churches in Granada. Laying on the end of the main walking street in Granada, La Calzada. Worth a visit.

Plan your trip so that you can be at the belltower at sunset...you will not be disappointed. While there are no real 'tourist' things to do here, experiencing the rich history of the church is well worth the short walk from downtown Granada. This is an active church, so services are still held here. The staircase to the belltower is... More
