Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While waiting for the Catedral San Francisco to open, I visited this museum. Entrance fee is $5 or its equivalent in cordobas. Like most houses in historical parts of Granada, there is a courtyard. Surrounding this courtyard are rooms full of exhibits that include pre-historic sculptures, statues of Virgin Mary and St.Francis, oil paintings depicting Nicaraguan sceneries, a big map of Granada, history of Nicaragua, etc.
Note that explanations of the exhibits are in Spanish. There is a free, modern restroom towards the back of this museum. The staff are friendly.
Highly recommended to visit!

The town is not big on museums, but this collection is quite interesting and worth seeing. The spaces are well presented, the artifacts are of local significance. A nice escape from the sun and heat as well as the grounds and buildings let in a nice breeze from the lake... Worth seeing for the 2$ admission price... Hope this review was helpful!!!

We were told this museum was just renewed. We liked how clean and organized it was. The outdoor areas were gorgeous. The rocking chairs for the tourists were a great idea. This place worth the time, the walks and the reading.

Yet another example of a museum which has embraced "let's screw the foreigners" mentality: I went with some fellow students and they sought to charge me 3,000% more (not 30 - not 300 - but 3,000% more!) to enter compared to my equal and equivalent colleagues (C150 v. C5). One should eschew such outrageousness and stand up to discrimination and unequal treatment in all its ugly forms. Of course, a private institution has every right to treat people in a discriminatory fashion, but such despicable behavior should be combatted in every way, shape, and form.

A great history of Nicaragua and Granada spoilt by the inclusion of a celebration of the Russian annexing of Crimea - how was this even allowed!!Highly inappropriate in a celebration of the Nicaraguan people - poor show!

A lot of reproductions and illustrations. Hardly any original art works. Perhaps it would have been more interesting to restore the convent's interior to its former glory and shed light on how the monks lived in this building for centuries.
Entrance fee: 5USD (same price as the National Palace of Culture in Managua where there is much more to see)

The museum seems confusing, as it tries to tell different stories, which has nothing in common. First was how the religious festival are held, then some artist and a lot of religious art and then some archeology. Some of it is ok, but if you want to learn about Nicaragua, and the story of its people I would recommend the archeological museum.

This is a real must for anyone interested in the art, history and culture of Nicaragua. There are particularly fine examples of naive art for which Nicaragua is famous, along with displays of different cultural scenes. We spent a good two hours here. Lots to see and learn about.

Nice building. Thats it. Further the museum has special, much! higher, prices for foreigners. So far so good, but small chldren also have to pay that price which means a factor 30 on the price of Nicaraguan children. I don't like to be like a walking wallet.

Is the exhibit showing the pre-Columbian statues open now? I think it was closed for renovations in February. Thanks very much, Beth
