First visit to the museum, really to check out a new display set up after Iraqi Freedom that included a family member. Very moving memorials along with the history through the years. Self guided, easy going, take all of the time you want. It is on a US Army post so entrance may be restricted those with an ID card... More

The museum is easily reached after taking a moment to pass through the visitors entrance to Ft. Eustis. The numerous exhibits detail the remarkable achievements of the US Army through the ages vis a vis moving the immense amounts of material and troops needed to support combat. Everything from horse drawn carts, shipping, trains, trucks, and air transport is covered.... More

Went here years ago, this time with my adult son. The displays were very well done and really provided a fun way to learn about an awesome subject. The museum has a vast collection of Army Transportation vehicles including wheeled vehicles, fixed wing and rotary aircraft, tracked and rail vehicles and even experimental vehicles. We had a great time walking... More

After checking in through the visitors lane at the main gate, I found myself all alone wandering through the incredibly through and detailed museum! There were so many displays that I could have easily spent more than the 2 hours I was there. There was so much information that I had to pick and choose what I really wanted to... More

I loved that the exhibits are set up chronologically in terms of the different wars/conflicts our troups took part in! We found the information very interesting and helpful, and the exhibits were tasteful and well-placed.

I enjoy taking the children to the museum. It is interesting to see all the different types of vehicles and best of all it is free! I love having this little gem close to home so we can make it a stop in a rotation of things to keep from the "Im bored" blues.

While visiting Williamsburg, we took a 30 min. drive south to Newport News to visit the Army Transportation Museum. The museum is great! I recommend visiting it as a break from Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. The museum is in chronological order and explains why many of the Army's vehicles are the way they are. I have never seen such... More

The museum is on the Fort Eustis military base. Adults will need military id or some other form of identification. Make sure there is nothing harmful in your vehicle because they complete a vehicle inspection for everyone's safety. The museum categorizes the transportation by year/military initiative. If you like detail, this place provides it. If you are a skimmer like... More
