Opted for this instead of Path of the Gods as it was shorter and you could return to the start point easy enough and because we thought Path of Gods would be teeming with tourists.
Now I dont know how Path of the Gods is but I can say we were not disappointed by the incredible views from the top. Want to do this again and go further to the big summit next time.

Be prepared for a long series of ancient steps at the beginning and end of the trail. However, the views from the top are worth it.
Take plenty of water and a picnic lunch. And make sure you're prepared for a several hour hike.

I spent a week in Amalfi doing various hikes in the area. While the Path of Gods hike was most reviewed and talked about while I was doing my research, my personal favourite was the Monte Tre Calli circuit. The head of both hikes are from Bomerano. The Path of Gods gives a constricted bay view of the area. Whileas Monte Tre Calli when one gets to the top gives a 360 degree view which includes the bay and coastal area, as well as inland view. It was breath-stopping for me. Before you embark on it, please take note that Path of Gods is rated as easy/touristic, while Monte Tre Calli is rated as medium difficulty by Club Alpino Italiano (CAI). The latter is more physically demanding involving steeper ascend. If you are heading out armed with a CAI hiking map, please also take note that the write-up for Hike 50: Monte Tre Calli gives detour options to nearby peaks Capo Muro and Mount Catiello. I took the detour options later to find out that Mount Catiello was rated a EEA i.e. for experienced hikers with equipment. It involves going up a near vertical rock face which requires using both hands and feet. While the write up seems to suggest an alternative exit when one gets to the top, the trail markers end here. It is the same way up and down. Unless one is equipped, I would highly recommend to end the hike at Monte Tre Calli or Capo Muro and take the gentle slope down.

I went on this circuit hike as part of an Exodus self-guided tour, based in Bomerano (Agerola). The views were stunning and included the entire coast up to the Island of Capri to the north, and Bomerano to the south. I enjoyed this more than the Path of the Gods hike, due to the more interesting terrain and views. It is more challenging and can get steep in places, but you're rewarded by a long ridgetop hike above tree line, and a spectacular descent from Capo Muro (mushroom shaped rock at a junction) facing the sea the whole way down. Definitely scramble up to the peak when you get to the ridge top and walk out toward the sea, wait for breaks in the drifting clouds, and enjoy the views during lunch.
As far as gear - I did fine with trail walkers instead of heavy hiking boots, and I don't have particularly strong ankles. Do take a lot of water (3 small water bottles or 2 big ones per person), a jacket for the summit, and sunscreen/lip balm.

If you are in pretty good shape, and wearing real trail shoes, this is a nice hike up from Bomerano with wonderful views at the end. We do this once a year and have never seen more than 2 other people at the top, and we usually have it all to ourselves. Our favorite scenic picnic place, but carry out all your trash with you.

This walk is on the Agerola Experience App and is a really great circular walk from Bomerano. I wouldn't say better than Path of The Gods, but the view from the top is possibly better (you're certainly higher) than the POTG views. My word of warning is that this is described as a 2.5km, 2h 30 m walk which is not correct for the circuit, possibly they meant to the third peak and possibly as the crow flies. I don't recall exactly, but I think 3 hours+ for the total walk and 8km-10km.
Very worthwhile though, a long climb with lots of steps (true of everywhere on the Amalfi coast), rewarded with fantastic views in all directions including views of Capri if visibility is good. Once on top, walk between peaks is easy, with little height change, initially steep decent on well marked path (you circuit anti clockwise round last peak), down to wide path through trees, eventually becoming a road and finally the steps you started on to return back to Bomerano.
Tip, On the way up, quite near top of first peak, the marked path seems to take a steep difficult (for some) ascent, there is an alternative well walked path initially following the hill side which is easier and ends up at the same place.
And Bomerano piazza is a great place to finish a walk with a few nice cafe bars and Pasticcerias.

The start may be difficult for some people but if you take your time, you'll be rewarded with some wonderful views. The trail was well marked though GPS is useful if only to follow your progress. We did the 'Circuit', so Bomerano, Monte Tre Calli, Capo Muro, Bomerano. The stated duration of 150 minutes may be an underestimate if you stop along the way or walk slowly.

This was an awesome experience, one to remember for years to come.
My wife threatened to turn around and return to the hotel three times during the uphill portion, my daughter ranted endlessly, but we prevailed and everybody agreed it was well worth it once we got to the top, where we got to see the Western half of the Amalfi coast, all the way to Capri in the distance. Seeing Agerola shrinking away as we ascended was a great sight as well.
The trail begins with a 500 meter climb over about 1.5-2 km distance so not an easy hike, but not very hard either if you are in moderate to fair shape. We had the good fortune to have perfect weather, and we did not meet a living soul (bar cows, lizards, butterflies, birds) after exiting Agerola. Allow 4-5 hours for the circuit (we had to turn around at the peak and head back to Agerola to avoid darkness).
Be sure to install the free Agerola Experience app that shows your location relative to the path and alerts if you deviate.
Protect yourself from the sun, much of the trail is exposed.
Bring water and snacks/sandwiches.
Hiking shoes/boots are required.

A very good hike which when you reach the top, you get to see the whole of Amalfi Coast from the top of the mountain which is a spectacular view. However, there are a lot of flies in the area since there is goat poo everywhere due to goats being in the area.

In a sense it's about the journey, not the destination—though, the destination is worth the climb. The views are amazing and there's a real feeling of tranquility and solitude. You'll meet the odd hiker or two but round these parts people are mainly trekking the Path of the Gods or stretching their credit cards around the Amalfi hotspots after a long traffic jam. Up here it's a different world. Breathtaking views from the top.

Hi there. We want to hike this and other trails in the area. Do you need a guide? Are the trails marked and easy to follow? Can you stay in one town and easily get to the start of the two hikes you mentioned?
Written 18 April 2019
Yes, the Path of the Gods and Monte Tres Calli were an easy walk from our hotel in Bomerano. The trails are well marked. However, our Exodus guide was amazing and added so much to our visit to this spectacular region. ENJOY!
