We have taken several cruises in the Norfolk area. The other cruises are on motor ships. This was a Sailing vessel and it was a good value at $22 per person . It was crowded even though it was not a sold out cruise, since people let their children run all over the ship! This Schooner is a really nicely made... More

My husband and I took a harbor tour of Norfolk on the American Rover. It was very nice. I would recommend the afternoon trip over the evening tour. You can see much more during the day.

The Sunset Cruise is amazing - definitely a couples activity. I went with a friend, who is a school teacher, so she thoroughly enjoyed, naturally. Very informational and as a resident of Norfolk, VA, I learned things about the city that I never knew. I would recommend this cruise to anyone. The crew was amazing, the captain and the narrator... The Sunset Cruise was very relaxing. The weather was great, the staff was wonderful, and everyone on the boat was very nice. I enjoyed the live music on board. The captain was very knowledgeable about the Norfolk area. It was a 3 hour cruise that set sail at 6 P.M., word to the wise....there's no food on board, so make... More

Had a great time enjoying the sights of Norfolk on the American Rover. Great crew, Captain and like all the "FYI's" along the way! Totally great price on Groupon and well worth it! Time on board was perfect! Not too long or too short! Great time of year too! Sunset cruise I'd recommend because you see all the kilts at... More

This is an experience not to be missed. A peaceful way to spend a couple of hours and learn more about the Norfolk/Portsmouth harbor area. Great crew, very helpful and very knowledgeable. The ship is roomy, clean, and very nicely equipped. An onboard small and well stocked snack bar is capable of catering to your refreshment needs. This two hour... More

My wife and I invited my daughter and family to come along. The two granddaughters brought a friend each, so it was four adults and four middle school aged girls. The girls liked the luxurious accommodations below decks and decided to stay there for the duration. They changed their minds when the ship started to move around. Urp! The ship... More

American Rover Sunset Sailing Cruise was the highlight of our trip! The ship is very spacious and clean. We have done a couple other Tall Ship cruises in other cities and this was by far the best. The crew was super friendly and the Captain gave information on historical landmarks while cruising. Another fabulous part of this cruise was Steve... More
