This is a great neighborhood movie theater. Has been there seems like forever. Name has changed several times I think before it was named the Naro. Great place to see old and new movies. Alfred Hitchcock movies, Seasonal favorites like "It's a wonderful life". There's a balcony seating area that I always go to. Very popular place some days that... More

The Naro is our favorite date night destination. From classics to new release. When you enter the Naro you are taken back to days of old theater and it is a great trip. Fresh popcorn. Homemade brownies always fresh. We love this gift in Ghent. A small piece of culture with a long history. Enjoy a night at the theater!

The films screened are foreign films, independent cinema and the "mainstream" cinema. The owners often show Academy Award winners and they also show locally produced cinema!

A delightful single-screen theater, showing the best of modern and classic films, with an emphasis on art house films that typically don't screen at megaplexes. Theater and balcony seating. Great popcorn, made with organic non-GMO kernels and a buttery topping that may not be a health goo but is much healthier than the norm. Locally owned and operated. A real... More

Tidewater residents are lucky to have this wonderful theatre which features both films found in the chain theatres and films found nowhere else in this area. In Norfolk foreign films in English of other languages can only be found here. Popcorn and drinks are relatively cheap. Unusual snacks are plentiful.

I have been a fan of the Naro for years. They bring in the documentaries that often go to much larger cities often with speakers. They have opened my eyes to a different way at looking at cinema. Also, how many theatres still have a balcony for viewing?

the Naro is located on Colley Ave in the safe and well-lit neighborhood of Ghent, with restaurants and shoppes. We purchase a booklet of tickets with 10 tickets for $68.00. That means the two of us can go to the theater for $13.60. If you enjoy popcorn, you can buy a large box for $4 or a huge tub for... More

What an amazing treat this video rental was! They have 40,000 videos!! My sailor son goes here to rent all kinds of movies and tv episodes. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I have never seen that many movies in one place. What an experience.

In my opinion, the sound system needs improvement. I am not talking about adding a high definition surround sound system. What this theater needs is some speakers in the balcony and some addition speakers in the back of the first floor. I found a great seat in the balcony, but when the movies started, I could barely hear the dialogue.... More
