My best friend and I took my 7 year old son to the Virginia Zoo this past weekend. There's a lot of interesting animals to see. It's fun for the whole family, young and old. Nothing extra special but a fun inexpensive adventure the whole family will enjoy!

We had a wonderful time! This was our first visit and the girls enjoyed it more than they thought they would! The train ride was nice! They sold out of dipping dots. I personally would have preferred soft serve or a sundae. This zoo has a great set up! All in all, we had a blast and look forward to... More

We came here on a 70 degree Feb Saturday. We had our 2 grandsons and it was expensive. As zoos go, this one is o.k.. I've been to much better zoos that are free or less expensive. We had a good visit and my grandsons enjoyed it.

This is a great leisure family time kind of place. I even purchased a yearly membership. The exhibits are very nice and clean, the animals are always so active. They have events throughout the year for members only and we just love them. Good time had by all.

Great Zoo! The changes that the Virginia Zoo has made over the last few years are positioning it to be a stand out family excursion. From the Tiger and Ape exhibits to the African exhibit are easy to maneuver through and incredible on sunny days. Great for walkers and great for strollers. Great places to sit and enjoy watching the... More

A pearl in the middle of our area. Great exhibits, a good variety of animals, and a great place to take your kids. In the summer the fountains are a hit with the kids, a great place to spend an afternoon.

Weather was great for early feb. There at opening and line was short. Open at 10 and was able to take train at 1030 for 2$ per person over 2. Short line. Saw mostly women with under 5 children. Am accustomed to interactive key points for children or feeding stations for ducks / coy. Petting zoo was not open. Saw... More

We enjoyed a wonderful day at the zoo. Being members we frequent the zoo a couple times a month. It is small enough to spend a few hours to experience the entire zoo and the exhibits. We are patiently waiting for the new Rhino exhibit, but miss the elephants. New reptile exhibit is coming soon too, cant wait. Food and... More

The animals, birds & interactive areas are so integrated and accessible. One of the best zoo layouts for children & adults alike. You can get so close to the animals in a safe and calm way for you & them. Great staff, very helpful & enthusiastic. The goats are a favourite with the little ones as you can brush them,... More

Great place to take the kids. Lots of animals. Water fountains at entrance to play in so kids should wear swimsuits in warm weather.
