Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of the largest glacier valleys in Europe ( in some books it’s even written that it is European largest one). If you are travelling by car stop at one of the several sightseeing points for admiring it and for taking pictures. If you have a few hours and you like walking do the 17km track. Enjoy!

Take photos as go down the valley to observe all different view and the sorrunds, with river right in middle. Nice to relax and just listen, special sitting next to the river, but also has some side views but small for parking 2-3 cars!

From Manteigas the road winds up The Valley alongside the river. It is likely one of the most beautiful roads in Portugal. We went both ways up and down after visiting Mount Torre.
If you are in Serra da Estrela this is a definite must!

It was a great advice by the friendly local to use this way on the way towards the south. Great views.

We travelled along this valley and found the views simply stunning. The road is narrow and twisting but the views more than repay the effort. Amazing views.

This is a beautiful glacial valley that covers about 10km from the top of the Serra da Estrela, down towards Manteigas.
The N338 road runs up the side of the valley, providing several opportunities to stop and enjoy the view. It is a very good route to take for those heading up to the highest point of the mountain.

Venho direto do Porto
