I’ve been to a fair number of Jewish historical sites in Europe and this is one of the most interesting, not least because of the story of its rediscovery. Tours are given only in Spanish - which I hope can be remedied in future -...More

Unbelievable to think that this building was only discovered about 15 years ago. An amazing insight into life in Úbeda in the 13/14 th centuries, before the majority of the existing historical monuments were built. Entry is restricted to about 20 people at a time...More

A guided tour takes you all through the "sinagoga de agua" discovered only a few years ago when they started to build apartments there. Our guid was excellent, and she explained everything well. Definitely worth visiting

While working on renovations of some homes, the synagogue was unearthed. It contains Jewish artifacts from hundreds of years ago and at the bottom there is a ritual bath. Don't miss that.

Our hotel host recommended visiting the Sinagoga del Agua and we did not regret it. A very interesting and unusual find. However, as the tour is in Spanish (and my Spanish is pretty rusty) we missed a lot of the anecdotes. We did have paper...More
