A much-altered church that seems to have suffered greatly in the Spanish Civil War with parts of the structure and the artwork dating from after that time. The highly decorated façade is impressive. If you take the audio tour, you need to go and stand...More

A pretty average experience visiting this church. Spain is catching on to the habit of charging entry to religious buildings. I have always thought it best for a personal offering here (would probably donate more than the fee) but hey, that's capitalism. The church is...More

This cathedral was founded on the grounds of a mosque and has had changes made through several centuries. Now its mixed styles are dominated by Renaissance elegance, the period when the most funding went into its maintenance and development. We were taken with this outstanding...More

Started about 1300, but the facade is from 1600 and perfect on this extraordinary square (The Molina). Inside it is very large, imposing, restored with different styes from gothic to Renaissance. Please also have a look at the Chapel : Christo de la Yedra.

While traveling, we always attend church regardless of the language. This was a special service Saturday evening. While we didn't understand stand very much, we loved being there with so many of the congregants participating. The church mainly dates from the 13th century. Love that...More

The variation in the design and decoration of this three-story palace which served as residence for nobility, convent, and seat of local government made it possible to appreciate the characteristic features of Renaissance architecture.

This place was very close to my hotel, the Santa Maria Ubeda (great place) and were able to walk around the corner to this small church that the hotel was connected to. The church is a fair size and has the lovely artwork that you...More

It's not a must see, but if you're here and it's open it's worth a peek. I particularly enjoyed the cloister area and the intricate scroll work on the gates.
