Brilliant house. So great to be able to be able to walk around inside Salvador Dali and his wifes house. This place was so much busier than I anticipated and I didn't book tickets in advance. We ended up putting our name on a waiting...More

Getting there: Dali Museum-House (Portlligat House-Museum is the same thing listed at Tripadvisor twice) can be reached by 20-minute walk from Cadaques, (the path, which cuts across the isthmus is much shorter than the road). Or by 5-6 minutes drive by twisty road, other choice...More

For our road trip around Spain, we wanted to see both the Dali museum in Figueres and his private house in Cadaques. Both well worth the trip. Make sure to book on line well before your trip. The house was so intimate and interesting, like...More

Firstly, having read many reviews we booked online, in advance and got there well before our ticket collection time. There are no refreshments at the house but there is a hotel next door with a terrace where we had a drink. We walked up from...More

We thought the house did not live up to our expectations. It is cluttered and awkwardly set out. There were good views from the windows but a bit disappointing overall

I strongly recommend this visit. You have to book in advance. I took a fast train from Barcelona to Figuere, visiting the Dali Muse and then took a bus to Cadaques. It takes some 1.5 hours. Cadaques is a beautiful place to visit by itself....More

If you're in Cadaques then this is probably the #1 cultural attraction. This is an interesting insight into Dali's life. I was not amazed and this is not necessarily a "must see" although I'm glad I went. Dali and his wife were odd and have...More

The house is so quirky and lovely that it's worth a visit even if you are not a fan of Dali. There is virtually none of his art here, just his household possessions

Dali's house provides an interesting insight into the mind of the artist. While there are no paintings on display, the house is full of his possessions and the well organised tours describe them to good effect. The tours are very popular. Make sure you book...More

Following is a sinopsis of our day trip to Figures and Port Lligat. You can find a bus to get you to Figures and possibly one to Port Lligat, but you would have to make it a two day trip to get back to Barcelona. We would... More

For car rental, there are several in Figueras (Europcar, Budget, etc) and in Girona. Driving should be straight forward, but make sure you have a good GPS if you want to make the Dali triangel.

I think you have the answers to your question above. I would add that I believe it would be a mistake not to give Cadaques a bit more time. Consider spending a night or two there.
