Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had our wedding here in early sept and it was perfect in every way !
Thank you to Shannon for helping us through the planning stages and answering all of our silly questions. She made sure that all our needs were met and everything ran like clockwork .
We had the ceremony in the seminar room which was such a lovely size for our 45 guests. The chairs magically moved from there to the tables for the wedding breakfast. The staff were really good at doing things so nobody noticed they were doing it ! Thank you for that you were all fantastic.
We had drinkies and casual photos outside by the river before our wedding breakfast.
We had the hot buffet which we tweaked slightly , it was delicious . We had the cold finger buffet in the evening, but there was a lot left over. I think everyone really enjoyed the hot buffet and weren’t hungry in the evening, such a shame as it looked yummy and there was a lot of it Lots of people had to leave to get ferries home too. We were too busy chatting to worry about eating.
We left a few things behind when we left and Shannon had it ready for us to collect a few days later.
It really was the best wedding , from having the green room to relax in and get ready was a really welcome treat to having Shannon sit at the back of the ceremony playing the music very discretely . We had chosen the theme tune from Jaws for my entrance , Shannon was very accommodating with this so don’t be afraid to do something personal.
We both highly recommend Quay Arts for an intimate and personal wedding which will be professionally organised by a very friendly lady and her team.
We like we’ve made a new friend !

On holiday in the IOW in June and found this hidden Gem of an eating establishment in Newport. The staff are so dog-friendly and we visited several times over the three weeks of our IOW holiday. Even, in bad weather, our Labrador was welcomed and given treats inside the eatery. It looks and is, high class food and cooking but all the prices are so reasonable and the staff are very friendly-and you can stay as long as you want, either sitting outside overlooking the river or inside in the spacious restaurant . Really enjoyed the food here and they have either menus or daily specials-all of which are so well cooked and very, very tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant to any travellers!

The gallery is located in the centre of Newport in a fabulous old building; a converted 19th Century brewery warehouse complex on the River Medina.
There are three galleries with free exhibitions. On the ground floor there is a cafe, where you can get a drink and snack or meal. There is also a craft shop selling products from Isle of Wight crafters (ceramics, glass, textiles, metalwork, woodwork, jewellery, greeting cards.. I have probably forgotten something!).
We were at the centre to see the free Detritus “The Debris of Consumerism” exhibition in the Clayden Gallery, running until 12th February 2023. It is thought provoking.

Visited here for lunch and had a very nice meal of lasagne and frittata. The service was efficient and the staff friendly. We did venture upstairs into the art gallery but there wasn't too much on show at the time possible due to the Covid issues.
The outdoor seating area was good with a pleasant view across the river.
Overall a nice place for a meal.

Table service only. Waited 10 minutes to order a coffee. Waited another ten minutes for it to arrive. The coffee tasted like burnt potatoes so ended up throwing it away. My girlfriend didn't order a drink because we waited so long to place an order that she knew the drink would not arrive before she had to leave for an appointment. I'm unlikely to try there food menu having had this experience. The art gallery is worth a visit though.

Went a few times with the family for the reading festival. Really well organised, and just a charming event. Granddaughters particularly enjoyed the talk by Simon Farnaby- it's so lovely to see some big names appearing on the Island.
The staff at Quay Arts have been delightful throughout and I am looking forward to next year.

Lovely atmosphere with good social distancing in place, lovely staff and great food. Always made to feel comfortable and welcome. A great must see place with lots of art and a pretty view of the river.

Fantastic wedding venue! Nothing was too much trouble, even with a sudden date change & added restrictions due to Covid. Friendly, welcoming & accommodating staff. They made our day more than we could have wished for! Just brilliant! Thank you!

There's a peculiar atmosphere at the Quay Arts Centre, one might almost say very queer. Not the sort of place you would visit twice.
