    Great day out
We had a wonderful day out with our granddaughters. They enjoyed the Easter treasure hunt and meeting the Easter bunny. They loved feeding the lambs. There is lots to see and do and all the facilities are really good. Of course, the ice cream is brilliant. The staff are very engaging, warm and friendly.

    Great family day out
We had the best day out ever. The farm is well run and there is plenty to see and do. There are times to see animals being feed or talks about what they do on the farm. We were able to hand feed baby lambs a bottle and I don't know who enjoyed it more me or my little boy. Would recommend to anyone with young kids who loves animals and ice cream.

Fantastic family day out with dinosaurs
Brilliant family day out with dinosaurs. It rained all day but the farm had this covered, literally. 4 adults and 2 children under 7 spent the whole day here. The kids were shy at the dinosaur show. The presenters were amazing, leaving them to get used to things and then involving them. Before long they were booing at Sam, laughing at the presenters and petting dinosaurs. We all loved it. The show was under cover and it was really well set up with little funny things for adults too like the health and safety notice. The food was excellent with a lovely covered area with tables and chairs. The indoor play centre was fantastic and we had to drag the kids away after a long day. There was plenty of climbing things for small and older children. We fed goats, pigs, cows, horses and llamas. There are plenty of hand washing stations so all good. We finished with ice cream which was fabulous. We took some home. Highly recommended.

    Great day
Been here many times but this time we saw the Jurassic adventure and we all loved it. Not much seating for the adults but I ended up standing at the front with the kids I mean who would want to miss out on stroking a dino. The staff were brilliant they really got into it. We then went in the corn maze glad I had trainers on the ground very uneven we got totally lost but enjoyed it, next it was off for an ice cream and as much as I tell myself I’m only having a single I always end up with a double because I can’t make my mind up , I just wish you would do some ice lollies as my youngest granddaughter doesn’t like ice cream and she would be quite happy with a fruit lolly, I’m sure that there is plenty of children that maybe are allergic and can’t have dairy . Finished the day in the indoor play area which they enjoyed . All in all a good day

    Great family day out
We had a brilliant day out with our two young grandchildren, this is a fabulous place. We paid just less than £50 for all of us (a general visit not any special event) and had a full day out, you could easily spend all day. The farm is very clean, well laid out and accessible, with everything clearly signposted and timings well advertised. The indoor play area is fantastic, very attractive and the children could have spent ages in there - could just do with a bit of adult seating at the side. We had brought our own packed lunch as we didn’t know what food would be available for young children, this is fine and there is a large undercover area where you can sit with lots of wooden tables and chairs. There are toilets just as you go in, you have to keep passing through the entrance gate to get out to the toilets, but that’s no problem, you get a stamp on your hand and just show that. The children bought a couple of packs of food to feed the animals, the goats and sheep were very greedy and it was great fun for them. They really loved the rabbit shed, where at a timed event they were able to hold and stroke a rabbit and guinea pig. They loved the pig feeding event and also watching the cow milking. The ice cream was fabulous of course. At every point in the day all the staff that we met were extremely kind, helpful and friendly. A lovely day out.

Good for events and play but as a farm no
The pumpkin patch was good, the kids loved pushing the wheel barrow and choosing their pumpkin from a huge selection, we liked that you could either get one from the ‘patch’ or a clean one from the boxes. Lots of great photo opportunities. Once we were done picking our pumpkins we got pizza for lunch, disappointing there was no proper cafe, just somewhere to queue for hot drinks and ice cream. Hot drinks took 45 minutes!! Once we ordered and come on horrible paper cups. I would much prefer a proper cafe where I could get a hot drink in a mug and maybe a sandwich. We’d already eaten but had to wait for our drinks. We got food to feed the animals but they weren’t interested. The rabbit holding was rubbish, one rabbit being taken round and you weren’t allowed to hold it, you were only allowed to stroke for a few seconds after waiting a long time for your turn. Windmill farm offers a much better experience where you can hold any rabbit or guinea pig and they trust an adult to hold it. Moving on to the play area, the kids loved it, a unique design and plenty of hide and seek fun. However there is no seating in here for the grownups, a small section at the top has some chairs scattered but it’s not your usual seating area where one can enjoy a drink whilst watching the kids. Why not have a cafe up here?

    Feel let down
I hate giving a 3 star but there is definitely some room for improvement ! Visited with 2 children pre booked tickets at 10am there was a huge queue to get in. One staff member booking everyone in during peak half term holidays so it took ages. The pumpkin picking was great couldn’t fault it , but there was no monitoring in the new play area, no seating for adults either , it should have a cafe upstairs overlooking the area. Kids got wrist bands to identify them during play but saw over half not wearing one so did they even pay like we did ? I would go back it’s just a shame that it was so poorly staffed , also £25/£30 for a teddy at the end was steep ! It needs more affordable options for a gift shop !

Good ish. Needs a few tweaks.
New play area needs adjusting. Sand is a good idea in theory-but in practice sand dropping down into others eyes and being thrown. Be prepared for your child to get sand in their eyes. No coffee shop above play yet so you have to walk across to the ice cream place to get one. As for the farm experience it's not much of an experience. Come winter there is little to see. The horse in with the donkeys is cribbing quite badly which was sad to see. Have been coming here since it was just an ice cream shack with a pig in the car park. Last x3 times I've been disappointed. This place is best in summer.

    What a great day out
I often drove past and now regret not going sooner. My son (6 years old) and I went at the weekend and what a fab and exciting place to visit. We spent the full day plenty to keep him entertained. He loved the farm and feeding the animals cows being his favourite. It also has a great outdoor play area as well as the fab new indoor play area this was great. Not forgetting all the staff, so friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again.

    Christmas experience
I brought my niece for the Christmas experience. This was our first visit to Mrs Dowsons and we had an amazing time. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the facilities were clean and accessible for us (no additional needs, 7y/o child). We will absolutely be returning! The staff on the Christmas experience were all brilliant and the present at the end was good quality! Engaging activities at each stage and magical experience leading up to Christmas! Only suggestion would be to seek microphones for the actors as it was often hard to hear them over the surrounding music although did not lessen the experience!

Disappointed on this easter day out - been a few times and always been much better - went pumpkin picking last year and was a special day out.
Easter egg trail not that good, and at 2pm during our allotted time all the stamps for the trail finder were broken. Egg for the kids must have cost 50p, really small.
Worst of all were the animals - 1 cow, 2 pigs, 2 alpacas and a few sheep and rabbits. Last time we went there were lots more of these breeds, and the donkeys and goats no-where to be seen...where have they gone! And given the money taken at this place, they could invest in a few mud mats to give the animals some relief from the sludge.
Left after an hour as so poor.

We went to the Easter Egg hunt event at Mrs Dowsons over the bank holiday weekend. We picked an early start time as we knew it would get super busy. 10am was a really good time to start :) this is our first visit to the farm. It was really well organised and run. Bought some animal feed and then off we went. Some parts were quite muddy so don’t wear your best footwear obviously!! Hunting for the stamps for the egg hunt was cute, there were some characters around the farm too - mr fox was particular good and interacted with the kids amazingly. He took us to the Easter bunny to collect our chocolate egg. The Easter bunny and his assistant were also great with the kids. Lamb feeding was wonderful- kids loved that. Seemed to be well run- although be prepared to queue for a short time (maybe 10 mins tops). The indoor play bit was amazing - kids loved that. We then went outside to the food court. We had pizza and it was so so nice!!! It’s so refreshing to go to a venue like this and actually get decent food for what you pay! Was really impressed. We will be returning :)

Such a warm atmosphere every member of staff was lovely and always willing to answer any questions. Mrs dowson her self was present we had a lovely chat with her about upcoming events at the farm. Being able to feed the lambs was a great experience.A lovely member of staff gave us some facts on the wallaby’s as we walked through and was very friendly and answered all our questions. The indoor play area is great like no other and well thought out. A great day out for all the family. We can’t wait to return.

We had a wonderful day, feeding lambs, chasing after our child on the huge indoor adventure playground and being burped at by alpacas,
Very professional set up, clean, well looked after and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The ice cream is quite simply perfect.
The hot food, fish fingers, burgers and a vegan burger were all reasonably priced, fresh and tasty.
The vegan burger was lovely and I'm not even vegan, the staff even tried to get me a vegan bun though I was happy with a brioche one.
We cannot praise this place enough and we will be back.

Website very misleading. The front page on their website says the farm is open from the 10th Feb.
We made a long journey and when we arrived the farm was in fact closed. Only the indoor play is open to the public.
We left with 3 disappointed children.

My mum, daughter (8 months) and I went to Christmas at the farm and all of us loved it! All the staff were so helpful and the whole experience was so interactive. It’s great that seeing the animals is also included in the price. The only negative thing I would say is there was no signage or staff to guide us into the experience so as someone who has never visited before we got lost a few times trying to find where to go.

Excellent experience throughout. The elves worked hard to keep the children focused. Each part of the experience was just the right length of time for the children and meeting Father Christmas was really special for our child, who is disabled.
Value for money and will definitely revisit next year.
Well done to all staff who participated.
