Lots of nice paintings and I liked the South Asian section and the Egyptian section. The taxidermy section was also very good as was the section about the mill industry in Blackburn and Lancashire

I know, museums per se, kids find boring, but I’d forgotten how good it was. It’s a small collection but still great for local history on mills and the Egyptian collection is great too.

I took a class of 24 pupils here who loved it and it really brought the history of Blackburn alive. We had a talk by Steve Irwin whose knowledge, delivery and passion for history inspired the pupils.

Found almost by accident when visiting the city centre, and passed a very pleasant hour wandering around the various rooms and exhibitions. Lots of detail about the city's history and the impact of the Industrial Revolution. One room dedicated to Egypt which seemed out of...More
