Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very disappointing Sunday Roast. No Roast Beef left, which was fine. Chicken breast was very over done which was changed for pork but they did not seem overly bothered that it was not up to par. Very average roast potatoes. It is not a cheap pub and I'd expect better. My tip would be that if a customer rejects something, then be visibly devestated. I have expeienced this response in other pubs and restaurants meaning that we have returned.

Exceptional! We booked a very big family reunion (about 25 of us) and we couldn’t have chosen better.
We had a large, lovely room to ourselves, with a door out into a separate garden area.
The food was superb. I never expect much when you descend en masse, especially to a country pub, but they excelled themselves. Really top quality and plenty of it.
Finally, the service was top notch. Friendly, attentive and nothing too much trouble.
Honestly, this place is a bit of a gem!

I’ve visited the Crown for Sunday lunch on five occasions now. Never got around to writing a review. The lunch is delicious and the same high standard has been maintained on each visit. The staff are friendly, the local beer is delicious. It’s a wonderful place and a benchmark for how a community pub can be successful.

It was convenient on the way home, with an exhausted grandchild, that the pub served food from 5.30pm. But, after arriving about 6, the starters took their time and the main course came at about 6.50, which wasn’t what we’d expected. That said, it was friendly and the good choice of food tasted great. We enjoyed it but maybe wouldn’t do the same again.

Definitely recommend. Friendly staff, great food (especially the Sunday roast) and a lovely atmosphere with log burners and plenty of board games to enjoy. Super dog friendly too and they even offer a “doggy roast”! We’d definitely be visiting often if we lived locally!

What a lovely pub run by friendly welcoming people. We visited and met family for lunch. Our cocker spaniel was made very welcome and our lunch was delicious. Many thanks and we shall certainly return.

We held our wedding celebration at The Crown after getting married abroad. When I originally visited the pub the chef also came out to say hello and discuss our menu choices including catering for many different dietary requirements, all of our guests were raving about the food and we had enough leftover for plenty to be taken home. The garden has recently been redone with a large paved area and a covered pergola, a great space with loads of seating and room for our guests to mingle, we also had an inside room where our buffet was laid out as well as space to set up a 'kids corner'. Communication with the owner Di was great, by phone or email and we felt looked after during the planning, she coped very well with the amount of questions I had over the last few months, allowing us to borrow their A board to use as a party welcome sign among other things. Everyone had a fantastic time and we wouldn't hesitate to hold another event here. We will certainly be back for sunday lunch along with our dog!

We came here on Sunday for my mother’s birthday lunch. The staff were very welcoming and obliging. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and was open and inviting. We all had Sunday lunch and were all delighted with the food, including the 6 children in the party. They gave half portions to the younger members, which were still very generous. All in, a relaxed and very pleasant dining experience, thank you.

I am so glad that they have resurrected this pub. The refurbishment has brightened up the place. The interior is tastefully decorated. The person behind the bar gave us a lovely welcome.
The food at lunch time was simple but well served and very reasonably priced. The three of us had lunch a soft drink and a coffee for less than £25.
I would have given 5 stars if there had been cushions in the dining room chairs which I found to be very hard and uncomfortable
Well done on saving your pub!
