Maresia Spa - Bush Hill Park Parade 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Absolutely do not recommend this place. Despite the fact that they were the only local beauty spa that I called that required providing my card detail to confirm a booking in case of a no show, I happily obliged their request however for some reason their system did not allow me to do this.
The man on the phone advised not to worry & just to come in. The morning of the appointment I then received a missed call & text advising that I need to contact them to confirm the booking. As I was busy working and did not check my phone I missed the call & text & 3 hours before my appointment I saw a text that they had cancelled my appointment. This totally contradicted what he advised me earlier & just because I was not able to immediately respond (which I was not obliged to as they had clearly changed their mind on what they advised) they cancelled my booking and gave it to someone else. I called back 3 hours before the appointment when I received the last text & said I would still like to come but the man said it was too late. He was extremely rude and belligerent towards me and when I said I was not happy with how they have conducted themselves and that I definitely will not use them again, his response was “we don’t want you anyway” and then hung up on me! I was not abusive in anyway and tried to reason with him. You never hang up on a customer! He didn’t even try to offer any kind of solution or compromise.

I also obliged their request to pay in cash as they were cash only & drew out £100 cash for the treatments which I now have to go to the inconvenience of paying back into my bank account, total nuisance.
It was my first time trying this local spa and it was a birthday treat for myself. Never experienced anything like this with any other spa, definitely will not be trying them ever again. Totally unprofessional and short sighted.
When I tried to call back to get an email address to write a formal complaint to they did not answer, what a surprise!
I would have become a regular customer if treated well but not a chance, what a bunch of amateurs!

Dear Jeyda,
Due to a high number of no shows our policy is to have bookings confirmed by new customers. We texted and called you in the morning but waited until 4pm until your space was allocated to someone else. We understand you had an error to confirm the booking by card the previous day and we did mention that you may receive a call or text from us on the day to ask if you will still be coming and you said this will be fine. This is an unfortunate situation and from previous experiences when a customer does not reply to phone calls or text messages throughout the day then it will very likely be a no show.

I made a call to the spa to enquire about an old gift voucher which I had been given in 2020, but was unable to use due to COVID. I had spoken to someone in 2021, post-lockdown, and was told not to worry about expiry. So I didn’t. As I said, the purpose of the call was to enquire. The ‘gentleman’ on the phone identified himself as the owner. He kept repeating how old the voucher was (due to the fact that I am not an idiot, although he did speak to me as if I were one, I was well aware of the age of the voucher). I tried to explain that I had been told previously not to worry about an expiry date. Obviously I should have, as he went into a tirade about the age of the voucher, that lockdown finished last year and what had I been doing for that year! I eluded to the fact that his tone was upsetting and he then said, in an aggressive manner ‘what do you want me to do, just give in.’ At this point, I had to hang up as his tone became intimidating. I will not use or recommend this spa. The owner is obviously decades behind the times in terms of what is acceptable behaviour towards women.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately what you have written here is completely different to the conversation we had. We gave you an extended year on your expired gift voucher and this was after all the lockdowns were over but you still did not use it so we have been completely fair.

Excellent Thai Massage on my first visit. They also do Deep Tissue massage, lymphatic drainage and various other treatments. Beautifully decorated and clean.I used to visit a Thai massage place in Southgate but Maresia Spa & Massage is literally on my doorstep. Very happy i found this place.
