Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely nature reserve close to Horsham town centre. Plenty of bird life at any time of year, which you can see from half a dozen hides around the reserve, as well as lizards, insects (dragonfly butterflies, damsel fly) and the odd rodent or two.
Coffee shop is very reasonably priced and volunteer staff are welcoming and helpful.
Low price to enter, as well as a low fee to get a yearly pass.

This is a lovely reserve with a beautiful lake and a variety of habitats around it. A lot of good work has been done in the last few years. There is a beautiful garden near the entrance. The visitors' centre (Discovery Hub) has a terrific picture window looking out over the lake. With that and the other hides along the lake you can watch for birds in comfort. We saw 27 species in a few hours. The cafe is a useful retreat for a coffee and minor snacks

We love Warnham nature reserve at the best of times but when we arrived today not realising they had an Easter Trail, we happily took part in what I deem to be the best Easter Trail I have ever been to. It was fun, super well organised, great instructions to follow and all on a beautiful route around the reserve. My 6 year old loved it and won a chocolate treat at the end of the trail. Their ice cream is delicious too! Thank you for a fab afternoon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review after your visit.
We are so pleased you enjoyed the visit and we able to take part in the Easter Trail. It is always welcome to have feedback following an event, and I will pass this on to the organisers, I'm sure they will be pleased to hear this.
We have regular events at the Reserve and these are publicised at the Reserve, our website and on all our social media sites. We hope you can join us on another event soon.

I came here the other day with my friend, both needing some fresh air and time away from the kids. The car park was full, which was GREAT news because it meant more people enjoying the sunshine and more funds for the reserve. We managed to find a space and were shocked at the entrance fee only being £3! Lovely walk, lovely cafe and lovely ladies that served "the tarts" (you'll know who we are!)
See you again soon... and no, I didn't push him in the lake.. this time 😉

BeckymM97831K,
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and such a great review too.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your visit and managed to find a space in the car park despite the good weather. The work on the over fill car park has now finished and has increased the capacity.
Glad you had a lovely walk and enjoyed the sunshine and time away from the kids, though they are always welcome too.
We are happy that you found our volunteers and tarts in the cafe lovely.
We look forward to seeing you on the Reserve again soon.

Beautiful nature reserve in the outskirts of Horsham. Great visitor centre with lovely views of the lake and plenty of natural history information. Good paths and hides to observe the birds. Very scenic after snowy spell with frozen lake. Cosy café but only for hot drinks & cakes. Unfortunately no sandwiches, soups etc

SergioR1,
Many thanks for taking the time to review our Reserve.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit and found the visitor centre, paths and the hides good. The Millpond certainly does look wonderful after a dusting of snow and frost.
Unfortunately due to the very small size of Herons Rest Café we are very limited in what we can provide and store.
We look forward to seeing you back at the Reserve in the future.

We visited today for the first time in several years. We were very impressed by the recent redevelopment work; the entrance area with the wildlife garden and outdoor seating looks so attractive & welcoming, the Discovery Hub is informative & interesting and also a great place to sit & look over the Millpond as is the new adjoining birdhide.
We were pleased that the rest of the reserve is largely as it was, it's still a natural & peaceful place with easily accessible footpaths. We really enjoyed walking around , stopping off in the hides to observe the varied birdlife and reading the information boards around the site.
We brought a picnic, as we knew the cafe is limited in what it has to offer. It would have been nice to eat this sitting on one of the many benches in the reserve but food can only be eaten in the cafe or outdoor seating area which meant returning to the entrance, eating & then going off again. We do understand the reason for this rule; we would have taken any rubbish home with us but appreciate that some visitors wouldn't and as the reserve is staffed by volunteers no doubt it's not possible to have to go around emptying bins/picking up litter.
The toilets are very clean and there's ample parking so all in all for the £3 pp entrance fee the reserve is excellent value and we spent a very enjoyable 3 hours there.

A beautiful natural place on the outskirts of Horsham. Quiet walks, interesting exhibits and information stands. Worth every penny of the entrance fee.

When will you open the hides as other nature reserves have done with limited numbers please? Going on a walk with no views of the lake at all was disappointing.

We are currently investigating the options of re opening the hides but have to conform to the guidelines . Our hides and the entrances are quite small compared to some others so we have to extra careful. As soon as we are able to open up we will publish this on our social media outlets.
