Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited the cafe and they have a really cute seating area and we had some cake and coffee and the whole environment was very calm and relaxed. The art is really impressive and the antiques on display are very unique and interesting. The shop is really cute and we bought some Jewellery and a crotchet pumpkin and had a really enjoyable experience

A magistrate court concerted into a market!
My first visit and it was worth it.
A cross between a flea market and antique store. Clean and well maintained.
Upstairs an upmarket cafe with a posh seating area with twenty foot high old paintings on the wall.

Haven't been for a good few years - really disappointed how it had gone down in every way. Used to be really vibrant with loads of decent stock/good prices but sadly, no more. No enthusiasm from lady behind desk who tried to make out one item on display without a price was a good price for the [extremely poor] condition it was in - just seemed to make up a random price for it?
We're traders in the same line & always try to support places like this given that times are tough & stallholders have rent to pay but seriously - go to the Etsy shop over the road as they have much better quality items at far more reasonable prices with really friendly staff who deserve the business.
So sad having to leave a review like this based on the actual experience of how a grumpy staff member can let the other stallholders down & lose them sales.

A friend recommended this antiques centre, and I found it very impressive. It's located at the top of the Beastmarket, and very easy to find. The building is impressive, as is the interior. It has an impressive cafe, and the centre itself is extensive, with multiple cabinets stocking a varied range of collectibles at reasonable prices. Service is both efficient and friendly. One of the best antique centres I've been in. Recommended.

I really like it here. Visited last week and bought a record and a 1940s style jacket. Very large antiques shop with lots to look at, stuff for all ages. We also visited the cafe and had a lemonade and cake. Definitely a must visit if you're in Pontefract.

After dropping my father off at Pontefract hospital. I had about couple of hours to wonder around town. After walking around town abit, I stumbled across magnificent building of the Magistrates market, which is also a café. Bit like a museum and antiques to buy as you work your way around following the arrows.
After a short amble through the building, I ordered a bite to eat from the café upstairs, and ate outside on the patio area. Nice friendly staff and good food aswel, followed by a delicious cappuccino.

I love visiting the Magistrates Market, some brilliant traders there of old and new and crafted items. From furniture to clothes, jewellery, household items and collectables. A great place to browse, whether it's to buy or to go "ooh I had one of those growing up"! Staff lovely and very helpful.
New cafe (May '21) is in a lovely setting with very friendly staff. However, we've had better cake, over priced for what it is. Nice cuppa though.

Superb Warren of rooms and cabinets to please any person.
Antiques are abound and every cabinets has something exciting.
There is one exceptional jewellery cabinet number 41 that I will revisit time and time again, full of cheap gold and silver items of all descriptions and periods, spotted it on the site’s Facebook page and had to take a picture so I’m reminded to revisit with my family.
Some exceptional bargains to be had and a cabinet I can spend time in and around.
Looking forward to the cafe opening soon.
