The Healey Dell Reserve is constructed along the old trackbed of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway branch line from Rochdale to Bacup. This ran along a very scenic route and had to cross a river on a lovely stone-built viaduct high above the valley bottom....More

The woods themselves are lovely but the road into the reserve is horrendous. You could actually hear the bottom of my car hitting the floor when the tyres went in the unavoidable huge potholes. It's such a shame as this has put me off revisiting....More

A lovely peaceful walk, not too difficult and the dogs loved it too. Heard deers and fairies can be seen here, unfortunately this didnt happen on this visit, maybe next time. Kalib

A good walk some parts need some attention as they can be dangerous to small children,also dog walkers need to pick up after their pets

Badly sign posted, sat nav took us down a dirt track to a dead end with a tree halfway across the road so didn’t find a Car park or visitor centre

Lovely place- rambling, water, trees, grass,flowers, birds, wildlife, insects, historic buildings,including industrial revolution artifacts, the wonderful river and waterfalls, tracks, paths, viaduct, cobbles , a tea room, peace ,quiet, tranquility, other nice thoughtful folk.... find them all at Healey Dell. you probably will be better on station Road other than that masseycroft next to the kick pitch could also be alot easier

Yes - there are lots of flat areas where a pram would easily be pushed.

hi sorry it has taken so long to answer the reserve is quite big but it has some quite steep climbs and the road into it can be quite precarious but if you are a experienced driver you should be ok hope this helps Steve
