I visited this museum on 3 March 2022. I was most impressed by the artifacts which were once household names like Romeo and Ind Coop. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit

Attended a talk on Greenwich Palace there so did not have enough time for proper visit. Lots of maps so you cannot get lost in relation to the Thames and other rivers. Layered information so you can dig as deep as you want. Wide range of interests from local industries, local crafts, local houses and districts.

We went here on Friday - it's only £3 to get in and well worth it. A compact museum with lots to discover. It was particularly interesting for me as I have lived in Havering all my life, so partly a trip down memory lane. I like the way it is organised - into themes like entertainment, business, notable people etc. And also arranged so that each major town in the Borough has its own special exhibit. There is also a current exhibition about medicine and nursing in the Borough. Lots to see, so although it's small you can easily spend an hour and a half absorbed in the interesting displays. It's well curated with lots of explanations. An interesting screen showing history of the Hornchurch Aerodrome. Also artefacts from various places in the borough, i.e. a seat from the old brewery and a handrail from Oldchurch Hospital. Some interactive stuff to engage kids too. I was asked not to take photos, but when I asked at the front desk the reason for this, it was suggested that it may be because some objects are on loan. This is very unusual as museums usually allow photography, with no flash. A little shop at the reception with pocket money toys and a selection of local history books. Well worth a visit.

Found the museum very interesting and learnt lots of things about the area. Everything is explained in great detail and the artefacts are in such good condition, even our 6 year old son enjoyed looking and asking questions.

I visited today the museum and was welcomed by some lovely volunteers.
The museum has an amazing amount of information about Havering and as a resident of lovely Romford I was very delighted to see what was Romford like a couple of hundred years ago.
I loved it!
