We had a great day out in Norton Priory with its fascinating ruins and exhibitions, fun kids activities, extensive grounds and beautiful walled garden. I came in August with my son whilst visiting family. I was so impressed with the precautions they’ve taken to follow the Covid guidelines as well as still making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. We’ll definitely be back when we can.

We love visiting here, this time we took a lovely walk around the grounds, which are interesting and beautiful. The archaeological remains of the Abbey are exposed and are easily viewed and there is a stream, canal, wooded areas and sculptures within them. It's peaceful and the children love exploring. The walled garden is fantastic too. It's surrounded by a woodland walk we love the changes throughout the seasons. It's well tended and there are so many surprising discoveries around each corner. The museum is really well presented and very informative. I love the actual finds from the site and the giant St. Christopher, which was restored in Liverpool's Conservation Centre, is spectacular. There are lots of things for the kids to do too and they particularly love the events laid on, Hallowe'en, outdoor theatres, Christmas Fayre, Quince and Apple Day, story walks...there are shops and a cafe too...(Although I don't know where they are up to with the pandemic!) Lots of times my family and I have turned back from visiting a place as it doesn't feel safe (Covid) but they have it sorted here and we feel like we can really relax, which is a rarity at the moment! The staff are excellent and welcoming, I feel that they really love their work as they are so enthusiastic and knowledgable. Well worth a visit if you want to escape for a few hours or make a day of it.

It's lovely to read how enthusiastic you are about Norton Priory: a lot of our visitors seem to enjoy seeing how our outside spaces change with the seasons. The shop and cafe are open during museum opening hours and we are slowly managing to start up our events programme once again, although we are taking care to be as safe as possible for our visitors at this time. Thank you for taking the time to review us, and we look forward to welcoming you back before too long!

We absolutely love it here, so much so we became members a few years ago. The staff really do make each visit really special with the various activities they put in place for the children. Always a friendly, warm welcome. The walled garden is absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend. The cafe is really reasonably priced and the food is always lovely and fresh. Thank you Lorraine and team for always making our time at Norton Priory enjoyable even in these unusual times.

Superb day out at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens today, including Walled Garden, pear orchard and woodland walks. Excellent involving/interesting exhibits in relatively new Museum building, atmospheric glade/stream garden, wildlife, cafe and outside seating area, plus picnic area. Free parking. The outdoor xylophone and tubular bells installation in the garden, plus the replica full size medieval bell (all of which I played/rang) made the experience auditory as well as visual, tactile and cerebral. Well done to friendly staff in these unusual times.

Norton Priory is an a outstanding visitor attraction and a hidden gem. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with everything on offer from an indoor museum to outdoor remains of an ancient Abbey. It is steeped in history and it was fascinating to learn about the changes to the place throughout the centuries. The walled garden was also very impressive and had a rich collection of beautiful flowers and well-kept grounds. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by friendly staff who made time to answer questions and discuss the history of the site. Norton Priory exceeds all expectations. We will certainly be returning for another visit to this spectacular monastic location.
