Have been to Wigg Island on a number of occasions and its a great place to see wildlife and birds in particular. There is a small visitor centre which is open some times but not always, but the walk around the island is pleasant and the views from the hides dotted around are good.

Great for walking the dog and a good vantage point for watching the new Mersey Gateway bridge construction. Plenty of wildlife and free. allow time for the long delay traffic lights

Went with our grandson recently. No facilites to buy a drink or use a toilet because the visitor centre was closed. Due to the new bridge construction some of the paths were closed.

Plenty of wide open spaces for the kids to burn off energy, but also viewing points in various locations where you can view the river, new bridge construction and wildlife. The kids enjoyed finding the numerous carved figures around the area and took loads of photos. We took a picnic and it was lovely just to sit and watch the... More

I have visited Wigg Island many times however since the bridge and road closures in Runcorn the community park itself has lost parts of the access and walks. The views of the new bridge is good and the park itself is great and perfect place to relax and walk shame that parts have been ruined with the bridge project.
