We will enjoy natural wonders of the east side of the island. Here you enjoy a full adventure and local experience guided by a local. Expect a trilling trip full of nature and awesome natural waterslides in the rain forest called El Yunque. A very unique ecosystem as it is the only tropical rain forest in the US Forest System. Be prepared for a hike full of nature. Learn about the history, bamboos & 300 year old trees. Please bring water shoes, hiking shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet or muddy (NO SANDALS), water, camera, snacks, and bathing suit. Remember, transportation not included.

This experience is a very authentic puertorican tour that offers unique and secret gems of the rainforest. We end the trip by having lunch at a local small family owned restaurant that serves authentic grandma style food. We meet in Fajardo, here you will follow the guide in your own vehicle to our hidden gem! Be ready to enjoy a real adventure full of nature and waterslides in the rainforest.

Best beach we found for snorkeling. Rent gear or bring it with you ($30 on Amazon, so easy). At Melones, stay to the right and snorkel out towards the rocks for amazing coral and fish!

Sparkling clear water. This is a Rocky beach. Water shoes are recommended. The water was nice and warm. The view around the beach was awesome. Very tranquil.

Melones is not the prettiest beach by Culebra (or Caribbean) standards, but it does have some of the best snorkeling in the area. Live coral, turtles, and beautiful tropical fish are just a quick drive(or brisk hike) from the Ferry terminal. When you arrive at the beach, snorkeling gear is available for rent (in case you didn’t bring yours). As any local will tell you, once in front of the ocean, GO RIGHT! It’s where all the fun stuff is.

This was altogether pretty good snorkeling, but on a sunny afternoon, the reef to the right has some bigger rock formations with a ton of colorful coral and fish. It was magical! Also really easy to get in at this beach.

If you go straight out from the parking lot the reef will be to the rt almost along the shore. It gets better if you go out a bit & keep going. We saw a giant tuna here this time. Lots of pretty fish & beautiful reef out a ways. This was probably the healthiest looking reef we saw while staying in culebra. It’s not huge though.
