Founded in 1976, the first museum to honor 4th President James Madison. The Museum houses a wealth of artifacts in its nearly 13,000 square feet of exhibit space that bring to life the rich history of Orange, Virginia. A nice assortment of Madison's belongings along with a large and diverse collection ranging from art and textiles to farm tools and a 1923 Model T. We even have a 1732 Patent House. Only 4 miles from our friends at James Madison's Montpelier, located in the historic town of Orange. Handicap friendly and plenty of parking around the building.

Educational, and visitor friendly. The surrounding area is historic and beautiful with gently rolling hills and farms with happily grazing cows. Large, architecturally enticing estate homes are jewels dropped along the roads that meander through the countryside.
