Aside from the construction activity which is set to completely re-develop the foreshore area, we enjoyed our family visit to Scarborough, where kids used the playground (which is also in process of being expanded) and we had a lovely walk on the beach. One of the iconic white sandy beaches of Perth, it has steep gradient run-off from sand to... More

Scarborough beach currently behind serious construction to create pool, restaurants etc. Limited toilets, lots of noise and less than 20% of the parking it used to have. Forget parking here at the weekend. Dust and construction vehicles everywhere. Who does this in peak season? Go elsewhere

This is one beach that has it all. For the swimmer, the surfer, the kite surfer, the walker, the sight seer, the lovers, the loners, the escapees, the retirees and just about everyone else that likes to be and look at something beautiful.

We were quite disappointed with this beach (on our 4 day stay there) and recommend you don't have high expectations as extensive construction work (not likely to finish for a long time) has wrecked the beachfront and turned it into an ugly eyesore. Better head to another beach in Perth - there are lots of other alternatives.

A beautiful sandy beach that was a bit rough when I visited although life guards were in duty and there were regular helicopter patrols. A nice beach

I must say since the last visit to Scarborough the waterfront has change allot. The work that has been done is amazing and when it's all finished it will be a fantastic location for families and tourists alike. The new duel pool complex which I hear may saltwater will be great for those who are not to sure of their... More

We travelled to Scarborough beach from the city of Perth - bus, train and bus again each way. Approx. 45 minutes each way. The beach area is currently undergoing a facelift. The public amenity is being upgraded and there are some barriers obstructing clear view of the beach from the street. There are terraced lawn areas which provide some welcome... More

Lovely clean sand and great surf. Beautiful beach to visit. Although parking is a little difficult at present with construction work going on.

This is a very nice beach! The water is clear and fabulous colors of blue! And clean!! No seaweed or jelly fish that we saw. Great sand.. nice and fine. It is a bit chilly, though... Also, as there are a number of surfers, be sure to swim near the beach patrol and between the flags.

Already gorgeous but will be even better when redevelopment complete and public spaces reactivated. Plenty of facilities, shops, eateries, bars, etc.
