Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We happened to be driving past on a visit to Martinborough and decided to pop in. What an unexpected, interesting hour spent with John who gave us a very good overview of olive oil production. His enthusiasm on the topic was infectious and his knowledge impressive. For visitors to the area this is definitely a recommended stop.

John Meehan is extremely knowledgeable, as is his wife Helen about their olive oils and soap. It's great being able to taste each oil and learn how it's made. A great selection and we particularly liked the cumin oil and the porcini mushroom one. Their website also has recipes, so you can get ideas about how to use their different oils. Very useful.

Most people go to Matinborough for the vineyards but thia hidden gem is also worth a visit.
The hosts gave us a lovely tour of the grove, explaining all about olives, harvesting, the different varieties and many more. At the end of the tour we watched a short video about the pressing of the olives and then proceeded to taste a variety of oils.
Thanks to Olivo we now know what to look out for when buying or tasting olive oil, and what each type really means. They also have olive oil soap which I can't wait to try!

We popped in to buy some olive oil off the property from well known brand and came out with so much more... Very knowledgeable history and explanation of olive oils and Wairarapa versus Mediterranean ..from John along with the tasting. Beautiful gardens and setting - all quite exquisite. Well worth a visit We’ll be back to pick up our next supplies if these wonderful oils soon !

What a wealth of knowledge the owner is. You get to have a tasting of the various oils. There are sweet as well as savoury. Over the years, we have brought family from various parts of Australia at you as well as Auckland family. They still rave about you. We were over from Wellington at the weekend so I stocked up. Thank you for great service

As we progressed through our wine tasting plans in Martinborough, our guide made an unscheduled stop at Olivo, where the owner himself received us, gave us a brief tour and explanation of the olive varieties and the resulting olive oils. We had tasted olive oil in Italy, Spain, Greece, Argentina and California, so we were familiar with the process. Truth be told, Olivo produces a variety of lovely olive oils and their continued quest for new products is admirable. Include this in your tasting plans.

We visited in January this year. The gentleman who presented the different types of oils to us was super friendly and extremely passionate about the oils - which made for a great experience. There was no pressure to buy, although once you taste the oils you will definitely want to buy at least one. I have the smoked chilli and the smoked paprika - they are delicious over roasted veggies. After we made our purchase we were encourage to go for a wander around the olive garden, which was really nice! We are definite Olivo converts now and will be back when bringing friends and family who are visiting.

We visited as part of a winery cycle tour. John the host greater us warmly and gave us a great introduction to olive growing and an excellent tasting of the products including 3 extra virgin oils as well as a plethora of infused oils( I loved the vanilla one). A great option to add into your winery stops.

My friend and I came across this olive grove as we drunk our was through the vinyards of Martinborough, the owners have incredible passion for what they do, and this reflects in the product they make.
I was never a fan of infused olive oils until I came across this place, the oils were amazing!. My personal favorite was the ( Porcini Mushroom ) I have never tasted anything like it, will definitely be back to taste again.
