As we were staying in Opito Bay, and there is plenty of parking at the start of the track, there was no reason to not walk this track. A steady climb for around 15 minutes and then about 5 more minutes of level walking has...More

What a super area with beautiful scenery along this coastline and the drive over from our accommodation on the outskirts of Kerikeri was picturesque. We stayed in this lovely area of Northland for two weeks in February 2016.

How many beautiful spots are there in this country? A short walk (with a few steps and mind the tree roots which make great trip hazards) to a lovely look out and splendid views.

Bring your camera with you to this track. The nearly 360 degree view from the lookout at Akeake Point is simply stunning. You walk through manuka and kanuka bush. Look out for the remnants of a pa (Maori fort) along the way. Keep your dog...More

This is a fairly short walk, but somewhat steep at the start. You can walk straight to the point, or if you're feeling fit, also opt to pop down to the beach on the far side. You'll get great, elevated, sweeping views of the incredible...More

We did a loop walk and went to the Maori pa lookout. It has beautiful views of the Bay of Islands and the boats. Very pretty and an easy walk.

This walk is very popular and gives you a grat view of the Black Rocks, Kent Passage and Cape Brett in the distance. From here you can follow the track down to a good swimming beach and also rock fishing.
