I would rate this a three, but my grandchildren (ages 9 and 11) thought it was great. A lot of the exhibits were out of order or closed. The children loved all the interactive models and exhibits. They especially loved the computer area. I thought...More

A disappointment. Small, few exhibits, several exhibits not functioning, and many boring exhibits. The Monarch Butterfly exhibit was no more than wall of some real and some fake butterflies on a wall. The live aquatic water exhibit only had only 3-4 small little creatures (poor...More

1. It's an interesting set up. Don't waste your time looking for a specific building because it's in a building that houses several different establishments. The entrance to the building has the fish tanks that include jelly fish, clown fish, blue tanks, and others. You...More

We were in town visiting friends and stopped in. Nice little science museum in the Center in the Square. My daughter especially loved the living river and insect exhibits.

High price for a bunch of non functioning exhibits, double check on the butterfly exhibit and the planetarium to see if they are operating before paying the price. There is still some fun stuff there but much of the museum needs repair.

We were totally taken back by the expense of the admission tickets. The concept of the museum was not explained by the ticket window and as a result we bought "tickets" for floors not interesting to our granddaughters ages 8 and 5. Yes, we were...More

Several different hands-on activities for a variety of age groups. It's not the greatest museum by any means, but definitely worth a visit. They have a room where kids are able to create their own projects and designs, which is great for creativity. They also...More

In the simplest terms this place was a total rip-off. Visited during a brief family holiday in Roanoke and we were attracted by the prominent signs for a “butterfly habitat” and a “planetarium” at the ground floor main entrance level. Purchased (what proved to be...More

I've just visited the science museum and i wished i was a child. Its so nice for adults but it amazing for kids. If you have a kid you have to bring your kid to this museum. It's fantastic.

Good option for "science play" with kids, particularly elementary-aged kids. Several play/make areas (Toy Joy with very large "Lego"-type bricks, "blue blocks" for large building, attractive maker space, "The Bubble" sensory-friendly play area). Nice touch tank with effective explanations. After multiple visits, still wish museum...More
