Come On

It's free, it's kitschy, it's beautiful. It's Roanoke. Just do it. Again and again. You'll love it! This is great for any person of any age.

Mill Mountain Star is a must see for both locals and visitors. The 280 degree view of Roanoke and surrounding mountains is beautiful. There are several trails which we will hike in the Spring. It was a cold day so we did not visit the zoo this time, but look forward to visiting with family this summer.

Drove to the star, great view of Roanoke. Worth the trip, wished we had dressed for the cooler wind, however. Would like to hike the trails when we have more time.

We parked at the bottom and hiked to the top. It was not a hard hike at all. If you don't want to hike, just drive up. The view is nice. We have seen it in the fall and the winter. The star is just a big metal star with lights. But it is the biggest man made star in... More

This iconic star and park towers above the city of Roanoke, Virginia and provides tourists and residents alike with a breathtaking view of most of the Roanoke Valley. It symbolizes the beauty of a very underated Southern City and serves as a meeting place for locals. It's free and that includes parking. It also has easy access to, America's most... More

We drove to the top of the mountain to see the Star first hand. It is beautiful and the view is spectacular you can see forever. The story of the Star is clear and easy to read. I would recommend people of all ages to see this.

The Mill Mountain Star Park is worth the visit. The view is beautiful. You can see the city of Roanoke and the surrounding areas. Bathrooms area is close by. There is a trail for hiking. Parking can be crowded but another parking lot is a short walk.
