Had some trouble locating the library since Mapquest did not take us to the correct address. We actually had to go several miles further down the road. There is limited street parking but there is a parking lot behind the library. But be warned, there are lots of steps from the parking lot to the libarary. The staff is warm,... More

This Presidential Library was one of the first established by the US Government. It presents highlights of Wilson's life and presidency. The recreation of WWI trenches is done particularly well. A chronology of Wilson's professional life before, during and after his presidency is also presented.

Presidential libraries were not subsidized by the federal government until FDR's, and then retroactively to Herbert Hoover, but not before him. Since Woodrow Wilson was the third president before Hoover, this privately funded museum has done a very commendable job in archiving the life of the 28th president. Wilson's administration spanned an extraordinary period in American history, from the creation... More

I had visited the library and museum perhaps 10 years ago but first time for my wife. They have added to it and it is more interesting than ever. Be sure and watch the 15 minute video before going through the house and museum. Also do not miss the basement where there is located a recent addition commemorating WWI

ALL presidential libraries and museums are worthy of visits by Americans with any interest in history. This one is not like the more recent huge institutions, so it can be enjoyed with a modest commitment of time, but it is well worthwhile. My most vivid recollection was President Wilson's car, which is in showroom condition, but also RUNNING condition, and... More

What a charming site! The buildings and grounds are beautifully maintained, the employees and guides and very friendly and knowledgeable, and the exhibits and buildings are interesting. Altogether an enjoyable little slice of history from the 19th and early 20th century-- I am very glad we took the time to explore here.

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum and tour. We started with a very informative video and then took a guided tour of President Wilson's boyhood home. Our guide invited questions and was enthusiastic and well informed. A nice way to spend an afternoon.

This provides a very interesting perspective on Woodrow Wilson from his early years (take the homestead tour for a better view of these boyhood surroundings) through his leadership in various roles onto the White House. It sets the stage nicely with information on for the personal foundation on which he built his professional life here in a small town in... More

A short tour of Woodrow Wilson's birthplace home with a small museum and gift shop. In the home you do not learn much about t his life and accomplishments but you do learn a bit in the museum. Short and sweet.

Right in the heart of Staunton, the museum tells the story of Woodrow Wilson as an adult, depicting his personal, professional and presidential life. We thought it was very well done. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We highly recommend the museum and WW birthplace next door!
