Kids love climbing up to the visitors room. A higher up view as you climb. Although standing and looking out over the side of the ferry is neat too. As is the experience of driving on board a ship. This add to the adventure of...More

This was such a very cool experience. I was nervous since this was my first time, but it was so cool. They offer this service for free and it is something I plan on coming back to again in the near future.

Using the ferry and then travelling Route 10 is the best kept local secret in Hampton Roads. Ferry is free. Route 10 while being a country road at least keeps you moving instead of being trapped in Rte 64 traffic. Its a better route if...More

Native to a land locked state, this was a wonderful free experience. Relaxing and short ride accompanied by pretty birds or sit in your car for the journey. My teenagers loved it.

Drive your car on board. Get out and enjoy the ride from Surry County to Jamestown. A few minutes of relaxation.

Check your times to cross the James River area. The ferry is small but helps out on connecting you from the south to the north. It is a quaint ferry and only holds a minimal amount of cars, but is worth the wait or the...More

This ferry operates 24/7, every half hour, providing a nice cruise across the James River. If you're heading south, stop in the Surry, VA area for some sightseeing, and if you are headed north, then you have Jamestown, and Williamsburg ahead. Either way, it's fun,...More

Depends on which direction you are driving, and what side of the river you are on. If you are in Jamestown, then find Route 31 (Jamestown Road) and drive south to the James River. Look for posted signs. If you are in... More
