We hiked up the trail from the lower entrance to the lower falls. Nice trail with just enough rugged features, rocks and streams, to make it pleasantly challenging. Plan on getting wet feet if it has been raining. On another day we drove to the...More

We did a loop combining White oak canyon and cedar run from parking on Skyline Drive. It’s very challenging, so don’t attempt full loop unless in good shape. Our 6 year old did it, but we saw lots of adults really struggling. Keep kids close...More

A nice hike that we did with our teens. You follow a stream down the mountain to a waterfall. You can travel all the way through to a different exit but as our car was parked at the beginning we hiked out the way we...More

The water was refreshingly very cool but it really took awhile of hiking down from Skyline Drive to be able to access some of the falls and water (other than a few small streams). Lots of rocks and length of hiking I assume rated this...More

This impressive trail takes you down 2,800 feet along a stream and into a canyon. As the canyon gets steeper, the stream hits increasingly larger waterfalls. There are at least a half dozen along the trail. The trail is densely wooded and the ground is...More

We love this hike. It is not a difficult hike at all if you regularly hike or are physically active. We did the lower falls hike. It is only about a 2 mile hike round trip. There are different ways of hiking to the falls...More

Had been wanting to do this hike for years but was waiting for the kids to be old enough to handle the longer and steeper hike. It was strenuous, especially on the way back up, but it was worth it. You must wear tennis shoes...More

This is a beautiful trail and well worth the effort. Remember to allow more energy for the return that is uphill and can be strenuous in the heat of the day.

Have hiked this trail a few times. Need to be in good physical shape and good hiking shoes to protect your ankles. The route we went (last time) took us across the creek way up from the falls. Watch your step so you don't slip....More

We wanted to do a strenuous hike on our second day and the ranger recommended this (we knew we couldn’t do the old rag). The night before the hike, we looked up the trail from the internet and learned about contradicting information about the length...More

I saw hikers with dogs near the waterfalls. They were from the Whiteoak Canyon Parking lot though. I think it might be too much for dogs if people start from the Hawksbill Gap Parking.
