Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food display and good location right in the heart of Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Kids were very invested in learning about the famous people from Virginia from George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Edgar Allen Poe, Booker T Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Pocahontas, Robert E Lee, Stone Wall Jackson, George C Marshall and so many others. Good way to get kids to learn about history and ask questions.

I was excited to visit this site and see all the native Virginians who’ve made significant contributions to the world. It was nice reading all the placards. I was quite disappointed that more of my contemporaries were not highlighted, specifically Missy Elliott who was born in Portsmouth and now lives right there in Virginia Beach or Pharrell who was born there. I almost dismissed it until I saw Katie Couric highlighted. Is this like the Hollywood Walk of Fame where you have to pay for your placard?

Interesting small area which covers some notable people from Virginia in history, arts, sports and entertainment. There are a number of brick pillars along a walkway on 13th St. from Atlantic to Pacific Aves. with plaques with names and information about each person. There are plaques honoring George Washington, Thomas Jeffereson, Douglas MacArthur, Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey, Katie Couric, Arthur Ashe, Patsy Cline and James Monroe to name a few. This free attraction is open all the time. A nice place to visit if in the area.

There are currently 40 plaques honoring Virginians who "have made significant contributions to our nation and the world" (= www.va-legends.com = for a complete list of inductees). These come from a variety of fields: early American History (Pocahontas, Washington, and Jefferson), military history (George Patton, Stonewall Jackson), entertainment (Pearl Bailey, Katie Couric), exploration (both Lewis and Clark), and sports (Arthur Ashe and Secretariat, the racehorse), just to name a few.
The Virginia Legends Walk is located on 13th Street, between Atlantic and Pacific Avenues. It is a wide open walkway and, therefore, always open. There is no charge.
We found it to be very interesting. I kept on saying, "I didn't know he/she was from Virginia." If you happen to be at the "beach," and you're a resident of Virginia, this is a "must" place to visit. It'll take no more than an hour to go through it, and you'll learn a lot of Virginia history.

Went for my early morning stroll and happened to walk upon Virginia Legends pillars. Quit interested in the reading. Clean area. There were a few homeless sleeping out there however didn’t bother anyone. Information was very detailed. Would visit again.

This open-air walk was across the street from my hotel, so took advantage of a balmy Halloween to visit. A bunch of triangular brick pillars with 3 commemorative plaques on 2 of their sides. Interesting array of Virginians from George Washington and Arthur Ashe to Secretariat. As other reviews have noted, sunshine can make some of the plaques hard to read, but it is a pleasant enough walk between Pacific and Atlantic Avenues. There is a small gazebo stage & benches on the Atlantic Ave end that might host entertainment of some sort.

The Legends Walk is interesting... if you want to spend an hour to read posts, because it is the only thing there is. Let's say you do not go there if you have kids, as they will get bored really fast. Information on the posts are interesting, but it is not very interactive. I think it could have been done differently so people would be encline to spend some time.

It's interesting to know of the people from Virginia but they could really spruce this up. Zzzz. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone but since it's a free walk through you won't waste any money

I am traveling with a small (10 lbs) and wanted to know if animals are allowed in the parks and on the boardwalk. Is there restaurants that have outside dining that allow dogs?
Written 10 April 2017
I would think a small dog in this park would be fine. We actually were the only people there when we toured it. Also there are people with dogs on the boardwalk, but not sure about places that you can take them to.
