Your first stop on the road to Jamestown is the Jamestown Settlement. This is a recreation of the original Jamestown. You start out at the museum with a 20 minute movie explaining why the English came to Jamestown and early history of the settlement. Then...More

You can't visit Williamsburg without visiting the colonial national historic park. Very neat and so interesting to walk through. Lots of neat historical things to see and experience. Our children really enjoyed this trip. Yes, we will visit again someday.

Learned a lot and will go back again very soon. This is a place where you can take your time and enjoy the demonstrations, ask questions or just sit down and take in the atmosphere.

Just walk around and enjoy all the beautiful scenes and history. Great place to take kids to learn about how it was to live there all those years ago. Things are explained very well and just ask any questions that you might have.

This is a must-see site. If you're taking the time to walk this whole town. You also need to visit this building also.

We chose to visit this site on a very very humid and hot day. We spent all day touring the site including riding in a horse drawn carriage. We covered miles as the buildings are spread out. We watched performances in a Courthouse and an...More

There are a multitude of Jamestown site names that are a bit confusing. This is the site of the original settlement and is jointly administered by the National Park Service and a Virginia preservation association. There is a single visitor center and fee collection desk....More

Excellent job at recreating the times of the 1700's. So much to see and do to experience what it must have been like. Will go back in the future if have the opportunity.

They even have a NP highway...very beautiful and sparsely traveled...unlike the nearby Interstate Highway! This is highly recommended.

Colonial Williamsburg is NOT (repeat NOT) part of the NPS. They might offer a senior discount (check their website, it is not difficult to find) but the NPS senior pass is NO good at Williamsburg.

It's not super walker friendly, but it does tend towards flat areas in these locales. The road itself is flat and better than the sidewalks, which are not as even and at times fairly crowded.
